Mother Nature is a Cruel Bitch

You may have heard by now that the east coast of United States experience its first earthquake two weeks ago. To pile on more shit for the east coast, mother nature gives us a gift in a form of a hurricane. In one week mother nature pretty much took a shit on the east coast.

This won't be a worthy blog post if I didn't include my experience of the earthquake. When did the earthquake happen? Around 1:50pm ish? Ok let go with that. Around that time I was nerding out by watching a Battlestar Galactica episode. All of the sudden the house was making a weird noise like it was settling in. Kinda weird for a house to settle in at this time of day. Wasn't windy outside, so it couldn't be that. Split second later, i felt the floor move. I could feel myself swaying back n forth for a few seconds. My bottle water sitting on the table next to me was also moving. 5 seconds of this it suddenly dawn on me that this is a EARTHQUAKE! Just like that it was all over. My mind was going berserk! WTF just happened here! Me being a nerd, my first action to go to my computer and tweet.

After tweeting, my mind was still processing what happened. My second action was to call the family and see if they're ok. Nope can't dial out because all the lines are busy. Most of my family is on Facebook, so i posted on there about the earthquake. If they see that i posted on Facebook then that will tell them i am ok. Turns out my mom, dad, and one of my sister didn't even know a earthquake even happened. My sister who lives near Baltimore felt it while at work. My sister that didn't know it happened was quite upset because she never experience one either. Least everyone was ok. Then reports were coming in that the center of the quake was somewhere in Virginia. It register a 5.8.

On that weekend, we were dealt with another one of mother nature cruel joke, Hurricane Irene. Mother nature was probably thinking "well if the earthquake wasn't bad then here a over hyped hurricane." It wasn't that serious when Irene past over Maryland. We may have gotten around 60mph winds and a lot of rain. There was minor flooding, Some trees got knocked down. A bunch of leaves and small branches were laying on the ground and roads. Didn't even knock out power. Was really glad about that.

What a week it has been eh? On the bright side, that quake brought out some funny memes. We will never forget!

The Spotify Effect

Hey I'm blogging again! Why? Because I need to praise Spotify for being awesome. If you don't know what Spotify is, it a great music streaming service that allows you to find any song (except Metallica, Beatles, Zepplin, AC/DC & a few others) and play it instantly. No buffering what so ever. There is ads if you have the free version but they're not that bad. Spotify has over 13 million songs! Not only do they have music but they do have a few comedians. Kind of came as surprise to me. Other features include collaborative playlists, offline listening, artist radio, (like Pandora), mobile use, sharing music to other Spotify users, connect to your tv, etc. Click here to see all their features.

Since it debut in the U.S, I was curious what Spotify was. Thanks to @PFKnone for sending me one of his last invites, i got to try out the service and immediately fell in love with it. So much in fact that last week I purchased their premium service. Which includes having Spotify on my Android phone. It the main reason why i bought a premium account is because i know i would want all this music on my phone when i go to work or travel during the holidays.

I've been finding a lot of great songs lately by trying out the artist radio and playlists other people have been creating. If you follow me on Twitter or Google+, yesterday i posted a Youtube video of a group called Epica performing their rendition of Star Wars Imperial March. Please give it a listen.

Also been listening to a lot of Dubstep by Skrillex, Doctor P & Flux Pravilion. Puddle of Mudd re(disc)over album, Hollywood Undead, Epica, Trans-Siberian Orchestra and a few others. I also got 3 80's playlists, classic rock playlist, and 2 top of the charts playlists that are updated every week. Yeah I'm getting my moneys worth. Anyone has any recommendations, please let me know.

Rebranding Thy Self

Did you hear that Google is rebranding Blogger to *drumroll* Google Blogs? Oh no you haven't. Whoops sorry. Let get you caught up shall we. From CNET news....

Google is planning to rebrand two of its most popular services, Mashable is reporting.
Citing anonymous sources, the social-media blog said Google is planning to change the names of its Picasa photo management service and its Blogger blog platform to Google Photos and Google Blogs, respectively.
Google acquired Picasa in 2004 for an undisclosed sum. Its technology, which can be downloaded or used online, helps users edit and manage photos. In 2003, Google acquired Blogger owner Pyra Labs for an undisclosed sum.
According to Mashable, Google's decision to rebrand Picasa and Blogger is the result of its desire to "unify its brand" ahead of the public launch of its new social project, Google+. The search company already has several services that use its Google branding, including Google Docs and Google Apps.
Although Google reportedly plans to rebrand Picasa and Blogger in the next four to six weeks, it's worth noting that Mashable's sources said Google has no plans to rename YouTube, even though it doesn't have "Google" in its name. The search company previously offered a Google Video service but shut that down earlier this year.

Now that you are caught up, what is your opinion on this? I find it very stupid on Google part. We all know that Google owns Blogger. Why rebrand the name? Is it because Blogger is not as popular as Youtube? Which by the way is not getting rebranded. Even though Youtube is own by Google. Maybe it cause if Youtube is renamed to Google Video then no one will visit.

My friend @TabithaHeidi wonders what happens to all the Blogger links? Do we have to change all the Blogger links in our posts, blogrolls, profiles and websites?

Plus if it not broken don't fix it. Fuck with Picasa all you want but please leave Blogger alone. We like it the way it is. Just add the features you promised us earlier this year.

If you are gonna rename it, let not name it Google Blogs for christ sake. Let be honest here, it a shitty name if you ask me. I suggest Blogger+. All you have to do is stick the + sign at the end. The + sign can be a trademark of Google. Blogger+, Picasa+, Google+, Youtube+. The possibilities are endless! or just leave it the fuck alone.

If you don't know Al Sleet, that was one of George Carlin's characters during his stand up. I bring this up because today is the 3rd anniversary of George Carlin death. Back in 2008, Carlin died of heart failure. Still saddens me to this day that he will never do another HBO stand up again. Carlin was one of my all time favorite comedians. I grew up watching his HBO specials. You will be missed.

Bartenders Job Is To Serve Drinks

Am I right? Customers gives you an order and you give them what ever drink they want. Seems like the bartenders I work with are fucking know it all and want to change everything. One thing in particular is that bartenders want the bands to stop playing dance songs (popular hip hop songs). Why because the DJs mostly play that kind of music. Here the problem, the CUSTOMERS like it when the bands play hip hop songs. It you the bartenders that hate it! If it not broken, don't fix it. Why should bands change up their play list if it keeps the customers dancing?

There are songs that I never want to hear again but there is nothing i can do about that. Unless I quit. I know the bartenders want to help but sorry to say it, but it not helping. These are the same guys that recommend we have reggae nights. We tried it. NOBODY SHOWED UP! Yeah like we are gonna listen to their wonderful ideas ever again.

We all have to listen to the same shitty music every night. Just fucking deal with it. If the tourist weren't so fucking picky about songs, we could do some other stuff. But they're not so we have to suffer.

Today is a glorious (and hot) day. My purchase of Battlestar Galactica The Complete Series on Blu-ray has arrived in it silver box glory! Also included is the blu-ray version of the BSG tv movie "The Plan". Sadly none of the webisodes are on this box set. Bummer but i will get over it. I could not turn down the $113 price Amazon was selling it for. A bargain in my opinion. Behold it beauty...

Looky there I still have my original Xbox games.

Between playing video games and working, i need to find time to watch this magnificent show.

Bloggerstock: Before there were blogs

Firstly happy Memorial Day everyone. This marks our one year of Bloggerstocking! Thanks to everyone especially Alex for keeping it going. Let make it to another year. Alright down to business. This month topic is called "Befere there were blogs". Our job is to find a journal entry or diary that you would like to share with the world. Then give your current perspective on that entry. Ruth of http://ruthajones.com/ will be hosting my bloggerstock post. This month, I'm honored to be hosting Alex from icewolf08.com

So, given the theme of this month’s Bloggerstock post I sat down and started to read through some of the things that I have written in some of my old paper journals. I loved to write (still do), and boy did I write some interesting things. Sure, high school was an interesting time, I am sure it was for all of us. One of the interesting things was just remembering some of the situations and things that I wrote about, or not remembering them at all.

There were also plenty of things that I am not sure that I would want to share. Not because they embarrass me in particular, but because I feel like I sound like an idiot. Not that I don’t say stupid things that make me sound like an idiot today, but really. For that matter there is some stuff in there that borders on porn, but I suppose that is what comes of the teenage male mind. Go figure.

Of course there were fun things to find, like the $2 bill that fell out of one of my books. I knew I had one somewhere, now I know where! I was (and still am) a pen whore. If you go through my journals, I wrote with so many different and crazy pens. Colors, styles and all. All the writing made me have pretty decent handwriting though.

So here is the entry I picked. By all accounts I suppose it is kind of tame, but I thought it was interesting.

So here is an incident that I just found interesting, a note in the street with my name on it. How can anyone really resist that temptation? Could I really have manipulated these two people, one a friend of mine and someone I didn’t really know? In high school, I suppose I probably could have. It might have been interesting. I suppose if I knew them both it may have even been fun to do.

What would I have written if this happened to me today? Well, the real lynch-pin would be who the letter was to/from. I mean if it was people who I knew well and thought could handle some fun or could use a “nudge” in the right direction I might try to help out. I have had a couple friends who have come to me for relationship help. I mean I must be doing something right if I am going to get married in August. So, who knows, maybe I could make two people into a happy couple. On the other hand, at this point in life, I would think that most of my friends would know when they are being played with.

So, there it is, an interesting look into my journals. Possibly not the most exciting or juicy entry, but a good one I think. Certainly a fun trip down memory lane.

Today marks my second time I've been to the theaters in two years. In the past decade, I can only remember going to the theater three times. The first one was Swordfish (come on Halle Barry boobs. I had to go!). Second was January of last year when I went to see Avatar in 3D with friends. I vaguely remember a couple of people talking. I know the friends i was with did talk a little bit during the movie.

Fast forward to today, I went to see Thor (not 3D) with a friend from work. Who also brought his son and a friend from college. We got to the theater, found decent seats and the movie starts. No more than 5 minutes into the previews, some douche behind me is actually talking on the phone. This guy did tell the person on the other end that he at the theater. Thank you mysterious person but did you seriously need to take that call? Shortly after that a guy in front of my was sending/receiving text messages. Later on, another man left the room while looking at his phone. Only to return ten minutes later. Assuming he was taking a phone call. Could of been something else who knows. But come on people! Put your phone away. You are not that fucking important. My phone never left my pocket when the movie started. My friend's son could not sit still. Luckily the college friend was sitting between me and the kid. I was not annoyed by him.

After those few minor annoyances, the Thor experience was good. Movie was ok. Action in the beginning and the end with some humor thrown in. If you do go see Thor, make sure to stay after the credits. If anyone going to the movies but wants someone who not gonna talk or use their phone throughout the movie, feel free to hire me. All you have to do is buy my ticket and snacks.

What surprising for me was that it was not expensive. 1 Thor (not 3D) ticket was $8. I bought a small (large fucking drink for a small) cola for $5 and change. No popcorn because i ate before leaving. I spent less than $20. Fucking fantastic IMO!

Spring is the worse season ever? Think about it for a moment. My main enemy during the spring season is pollen. That alone should be everyone #1 enemy during spring. It fucking everywhere!! I look thru my windows and everything is yellow. The porch is yellow, my car is yellow, the driveway is yellow. It sucks donkey balls. When I go outside, i feel like i need a bubble around me at all times. When the wind blows you can see a cloud of pollen blowing around. Makes you wanna lock yourself inside your home. Second worse thing in my opinion is bugs are starting to come out of their hibernation. I'm already swatting mosquitoes.

What I'm starting to notice the same about this year and last year is that temperatures are either cold or hot during spring. This past Sunday and Monday, temps reach the 80s with what felt like high humidity. Temps right now are in the 70s. Which is where it should be but inside my home, i got humidity up the wazoo. Got 2 fans going near my desk. The AC not put in yet because there is leak in it somewhere. Plus it needs to be cleaned really good before being installed.

For Summer, it not bad because all that pollen is washed away. Bugs are still a problem but we deal with them the best we can. I remember last summer that the mosquito population wasn't to bad around my neighborhood. Maybe that was due to the lack of rain. Temperatures haven't to bad last summer. Few days where the temps reached 90 degrees. Around August and September, we get a influx of hurricanes. Luckily for us, Maryland never gotten a direct hit from a hurricane. We usually get the aftermath when a hurricane comes up the coast. By the time it gets here, it just mostly rain with some wind. Although it makes me chuckle when the tourons flee the town because they think the worse. For some of you, maybe tornadoes are your fears during the summer season. Shit some of you have already gotten tornadoes. Those people probably hate spring already.

Fall gotta be my favorite season. The weather is like spring like but you don't get pollen. Bugs are on their way out. Leaves change to beautiful colors then gently fall to the ground. Fall is everything you want in a season.

Winter is well cold. I don't understand why such hate with winter. I hear people say...

"oh when i move it gonna be somewhere warm year around"

"blah blah blah winter sucks, snow sucks, everything about winter sucks."

To me, i like the different seasons because it keeps you on your toes. You can bundle up to stay warm. Unlike summer thought when it gets really hot out, you can be naked and still be hot.

What I'm really saying is by summer time let all get naked shall we. :)

An Elephant Never Forgets

Yesterday I have successfully transferred my domain name from Godaddy to Hover.com (the reason for the downtime of my blog. Again nobody reads my blog). With my renewal coming up early next month, i did not want to give more of my money to that piece of shit company; after what happen. To bring you up to speed, some big wig douchbag at Godaddy decides to shoot up an elephant for sport. Do you wanna support a company that goes hunting for sport? I don't.

It obvious that this douchbag of a person does not care at all! I believe he loves the attention. If you are a Godaddy member, do yourself a favor and transfer your domain to another company. I highly recommend Hover.com because it was really easy transferring my domain name. Only cost me $9 with a 10% discount. That $9 also pays for my one year. It a good deal I think. Sure it gonna cost me $15 to renew each year after that but again I don't wanna give my money to Godaddy. Fuck them! I'm ok with paying $15 to Hover. For $25, they can do all that work for you. It more fun if you do it yourself. They have plenty of tutorials for transferring your domains from different companies to Hover. They also had a tutorial for linking my domain to Blogger! Plus their customer service is great. I ask a question via Twitter and they responded quickly. Had a problem creating an account because my username kept getting rejected. Why? Well cause I could not use any capitalization in my username. They said they would fix that soon. Plus their maybe some downtime of your site. Mine only last liked 15 hours since I had to change the DNS servers. They warn you in the tutorials that there may be downtime if you change certain settings. Those settings have to spread to other ISPs.

Anyways I should shut up since it sounding like I'm promoting for Hover. Just wanna say again FUCK GODADDY!

On a Serious Note....

I don't do many serious posts but I recently saw a video of a rare Canadian wild animal. I hardly see posts about this animal. So I though i do a post about it. This poor animal was loose at a Wal-Mart parking lot. It was scared. It was destroying cars because it scared of the people and it surroundings. The animal I'm referring to is the Canadian Green Tractor. If you are confused then watch the video please.

What saddens me is the lack of effort by the canucks to tame this wild beast. Who knows how long this beast was ravaging the parking lot but after 6 minutes, one brave soul try to tame the rare green tractor. Partial credit goes to the cop for trying to box the animal by circling it. What finally took the animal down? A light pole. A freakin light pole! But the damage has already been done. I really shouldn't blame the canucks for their lack of effort. These sort of animals appear across the globe. Wreaking havoc on streets, parking lots, homes, etc.

If you see a animal loose on the streets or where ever, whip out that camera and start recording. The whole world wants to see.

Have you ever had a moment where you realized that you just want the world to stop? Maybe it was because you realized you were missing something, or maybe it was because you just wanted a minute to breathe. Tell us about a moment like this that you had.

*Ehem* Here I go.

I’d expect that the vast majority of us can relate to going through a whole school year terrified to strike up a conversation with your crush because you convinced yourself you weren’t good enough for her/him. That was me my whole life. Who ever really gets over as basic and recurring an insecurity as that?

I bring up the awkward adolescent inability to act because it might have played a role in a silly predicament I find myself in today that’s related to a much larger concern of mine: I can’t say “no” to anyone or anything. As a result I’m speeding toward I don’t-know-what I-don’t-know-when in a bus with a driver who doesn’t know how to hit the brakes.

It started with dating. I never dated in high school and felt that was somehow because I wasn’t the sort who had a choice in these matters—I thought I had to wait until someone finally took interest in me. I thought the way love worked was that I played along and let myself be courted until I realized I liked my pursuant well enough. Being the open-minded naïve young adult I am, that made me take a vow to never refuse a boy a first date. No matter what he did or said I thought that if he treated me well I could be with anyone who came my way. Maybe these ideas came out of my childhood interpretation of arranged marriage? Of course, I ended up leading other people on and once found myself in a relationship that absolutely did not work just because I was too scared to tell him I wasn’t interested. Though I don’t think I’ll repeat that mistake again, I find that I’ve changed little. I can’t say “no” right away and get strung along on pointless dates.

This applies to the non-dating world too. I took other people’s suggestions regarding what my college major should be with little or no regard to what I wanted to do in the future. I applied for internships that I thought I could get instead of the ones I wanted because I didn’t think I was good enough for them. And when I did miraculously find myself in an environment where I would have loved to flourish, I held back for that same reason.

My turning point, I think, was when I realized that the speeding driver who wasn’t hitting the brakes was me. Of course, the world is never going to stop and, being the driver, I can’t “get off.” But I should recognize that my “passenger” is actually my navigator. And I don’t have to speed.

WTF Mother Nature!

I have no idea what mother nature is up to recently. Maybe she PMSing. Who the fuck knows. What I do know is that earlier today, we got snow. Not much snow. Maybe about half an inch at the most. Still that just surprising since it SPRING! Obviously mother nature did not get that memo.

She must of gotten it sometime during the day because this is what I see now....

Your eyes are not playing tricks. Snow has fallen and completely melted in 6 hours. It spring now. Let have some spring weather. We are due for some nice weather right guys? Not this snow bullshit. Now my shitty ass car has salt all over it. Now I have to wash that shit off. Thanks a lot mother nature!

It Magical!

I created this video on Youtube with their Go! Animate software. I gotta say it was easy to use. I came up with this short 42 second clip. Please watch and tell me what you think.

Seems like Youtube cut off a tiny bit of the beginning. Whatever going on around the mouth was not created by me. It was not there during the preview. Must of happened during the upload process. What also weird that when you add voice to the character, their facial expression becomes neutral. I tried to make it talk with a happy face but the software made it worse. I wanted the character to look excited when talking instead of that bored look on it face. It does need some tweeks but it still fun to use.

Mediacom just cannot run a reliable internet service. No i take that back, they can not run a business at all. 5 days out of the 7, internet goes down at least once. Every day i fucking pray they get bought out by Comcast. Least that way i know someone who i can turn to for help. I have a friend who works for Comcast. I could bitch to him every time the internet goes down.

This really wouldn't be a problem if i had a normal sleep schedule. See most of the down times occur after midnight. Well I stay up till 6am because of my job. If i go to bed early then it gonna fuck up my sleep schedule. Mediacom internet hardly goes down during day.

I know, another Mediacom rant. Sorry. Just tell me to shut up and read a book.

You Are The Chosen One

Last week I tweet a picture (below) of a mysterious X scratched into my right forearm.

No clue how it got there. Late one night my right forearm had this slight burning sensation to it. So I rolled up my sleeve and low and behold there a scratch on my arm. Awhile later, another scratch appears at the same spot. I said to myself "That looks like an X". What could of caused it? I try to think back on where and when this could have happened. I am still puzzled to this day.

Is this some sort of sign that I have been chosen to do something important in my life? Is this the work of a ghost that lurking in my house? Or could this be a clever advertising of the upcoming X-Men First Class movie due out this summer?

Japan Earthquake & Tsunami

By now you probably just learned that a 8.9 earthquake rocked the coast of Japan earlier today. I first learned about this event via Twitter around 1:43am. The powerful earthquake happened about maybe 30 minutes to an hour before that. I turned on CNN and just shocked on what I was viewing. Water was rushing across land with no signs of slowing down at all. The scene was so surreal. Heartbreaking to see cars trying to out run the fast approaching water. The water was swallowing everything in it path. At the same time, carrying all the debris with it. Some of it was even on fire.

It was so mind boggling watching this unfold right on tv and on Twitter. 99% of my Twitter feed was all about the earthquake and the tsunami. Now the same tsunami is heading towards the Hawaiian island, west coast of the United States and Canada. Philipines, Russia, basically any land touching the pacific ocean is affect by this tsunami. I hope the citizens of those states and countries take immediate action. Better to be safe than sorry.

MSNBC said that there were many aftershocks. Some as high in the 7.0 range. The 8.9 earthquake is the 5th largest recorded earthquake in history.

Already videos are coming in of the earthquake and tsunami. I'll post a few of them right now.

Let pray that the people of Japan can get back on their feet, find their loved ones, take stock of the damage around them, and then rebuild. If you have any loved ones in Japan, we will pray for them too. Let all hope that the tsunami that heading to Hawaii won't be nearly as damaging as the one that hit Japan. Saw tweets that sirens have been sounded to alert residents. So hopefully they are taking action right now. Again this is very tragic. Makes me reconsider living near the ocean now.

She thinks I deserve royalties off of this and I have to agree with her. This is just downright sad. It like the ad is speaking directly at me. Come on Groupon! Where is my money? Don't make me pimp slap yo ass!

I was gonna insert here a Youtube clip of Family Guy where Stewie beats up Brian over money but it turns out more more difficult than I imagined. Most of the clips I found were either people recording it over their tv with their handheld camera. That not acceptable. Others clips had crappy music thrown in. Not acceptable either. If you follow me on twitter or viewed my blog before, you know by now that I work in the restaurant business. Let me remind you that it not very fun. But lately I've been brewing a thought in my head. What if I opened a restaurant of my own? What will it the atmosphere be like? What food will we be serving? Those are the general questions that comes along with it. It not like I'm gonna go out and open one right now. This is just my fantasy restaurant. The places I've been to in this town of mine, have been mostly the same. There a couple of stand out ones but generally the same.

It got me thinking when I saw a show on the Food Network. The focus on the show was about bacon. They featured a restaurant called Slater's 50/50. I immediately wanted to fly out to California and try their delicious burgers. It was nothing but food porn. The waitresses were good looking too. What was unique was their menus. If you were ordering a burger, instead of telling the waitress, you can just check off on the menu what you want on the burger, then hand it to the waitress. I thought that was a brilliant idea. That way if they fuck up your order, it either your fault or the cooks. I wanted a place like this.

So what will my restaurant be like? First off, this place will serve shitloads of bacon. Actually it gonna be one of the main ingredients in almost every meal. Shit how about cooked bacon as a appetizer? Fuck yeah right?! Come on who wouldn't that. It gonna be a sports bar as well. That a given. Bartenders will be mostly female. I want this place to look unique as well. Maybe put up funny memes on the walls. Like the "I can haz cheezeburger" cat. Or whatever popular at the time.

Name foods after celebs. Charlie Sheen been in the news recently. Why not give him his own fucking burger. Call it "The Winning Burger" or "The Bi-winning Burger". The double rainbow ice cream. Ice cream that loaded with rainbow sprinkles. Shit like that, that funny! Also this place will have food competitions. I want Adam Richman (from Man vs Food on the Travel Channel) to visit and accept whatever food competition that we offer him. Maybe have custom food challenges. I haven't tried out every restaurant in this town but pretty sure none of them have any food competitions.

Not sure about entertainment. Maybe a DJ once in a while like on holidays. NO BANDS WHAT SO EVER! Sick and tired of listening to cover bands. DJs are cheaper and can play better music.

God damn it, I wanna see some titties! Mardi Gras just happened this pass weekend, so why not have a mardi gras party with beads flying around. The girl with most beads can eat free for a day. This town is "family friendly". Please, there practically a bar on every corner. If titties being shown will scare away the old folks then they can fuck off. Also for the lousy tippers out there, maybe we could put their faces on the walls or their names. A reminder to tip well. Unless they have solid evidence that a waiter or waitress is a lousy employee.

These are just some of the ideas i got floating in my head. Working in a restaurant business shouldn't have to be so god damn lame. I'm sure there a places out there just like the one that I would want to create one day. But there is certainly none around here.

Don't Mind the Gap

If you are also wondering if I'm gonna import my blogs, the answer is no. Squarespace only gave me a .txt file and I need a .xml file. So just pretend that part of my blog never happened. It only existed in your dreams. I should also note that I'm gonna use titles for blog posts that most likely doesn't relate to the post at all. Just throwing that out there.

So what been happening since I last blogged? Ugh not much. Getting back into gaming now that my surround sound receiver is fully operational. Bought Dead Space awhile back. Just finished up Splinter Cell: Conviction from Gamefly. Had that game for 2 months. Time to return it. On March 15th, I'll be getting Homefront. This one interesting since it a game about North Korea taking over the United States. Exciting!

Warm weather starting to creep into our area. You know what that means. Yeah fucking tourist coming to town. God damn. I am not ready for summer.

The Return of the You Know Who

So I might start blogging again. If I do then I am gonna blog when I feel like it. Or when I have actually have something to say. I'm not gonna blog like every other day. The problem was i was having trouble trying to blog 3 - 4 times a week. Plus having to find a Website Wednesday was a pain in the ass.

So here what I'm gonna do:

1. First off Website Wednesday is out. No more of that shit. You find your own fucking cool website

2. I'll post a blog whenever i feel like it. I might post weekly or I may post every other week. I might not have something to say for months. Get use to it.

3. I'm ditching Squarespace. It was a nice blogging host but their lack of updates was pissing me off. Their templates were horrible. I honestly believe that they were focus on attracting customers more than anything else. I'm Google bitch, so I'm staying here.

Should I Move to Squarespace?

Lately I been pondering whether to move my blog to a paid site like Squarespace. I first heard about it on Leo Laporte live webcast and became interesting how you can create a website without knowing any coding. So I took up their 14 day trial and this is what I've come up with so far. http://booyabobby.squarespace.com/ It not bad but I think it can be better once I master their tools.

I just don't know whether to stay or not. It got the same features as Blogger but with better tools. Blogger new template design is seriously lacking. Can't use your own background image. Fucking lame. Squarespace I can customize the layout without the need of coding of any sort. If I do need to then I can insert the code easily. There a slight learning curve with CSS injection and what not. One thing I like about Blogger is I can pick a template and then copy and paste the code into Blogger. To make changes, I would need to dig thru the code to make adjustments and re-add all the widgets again. One thing Blogger has over Squarespace is the templates you can find on the interwebs. With Squarespace, you only get about 30 templates. You can make changes to those templates any way you like. If you had something to the website, It will not show up to the public until you tell it to. Now that cool.

I have thought about hosting my own site. One problem is that I don't know what host to go with. some say Go Daddy but I've been hearing bad things about them. I did some searching and came up with Just Host, Bluehost, or Inmotion. Then upload the wordpress software to the hosting. With that, when wordpress updates it software and you have to manually install the update again. Just seems like a pain to just blog. Squarespace updates it software so you don't need to. It is slightly on the expensive side. I was gonna go with the advance package for $20. I got a 10% code that will drop it to $18 for life of the account.

Not sure what to do here. That is why I'm asking you the readers. What should I do? Answer below please. If you guys n gals got any ideas, I love to read them.

My Take on the Ipod Touch

Boy oh Boy Wednesday sure did sneak up on me. Almost forgot about my lovely Website Wednesday. It the day where I tell you people about various not so popular websites around the intrawebs. They could be serious, semi serious, a start up business or just a website full of humor.

This week, We are gonna get some advice from the Ohdoctah. Ohdoctah.com Is a site for advice about whatever you need really. Relationship on the fritz? Family problems getting you down? Or just need general advice about anything in life? Ohdoctah got you covered boys and girls.

Every Monday night the Doctah gives our advice or perscription as he calls it to start of your week right. Wednesday nights, the Doctah has a show called the Patient Lounge. Viewers can call in to get answers from the Ohdoctah himself and some of his friends. He does this live on the air. Then Fridays the OhDoctah interviews a guest on his show. So if you have a question that desperately needs an answer or want advice on anything, give the OhDoctah a call will ya? The only thing he doesn't do his house calls lol. I've Joined the Dark Side

I have bought an refurbished 8GB Apple Ipod Touch (3rd Generation). Yup I bought an Apple product. I do feel kinda ashamed about it really. I been booing and hissing about their products for a few years now. Recently though I come to realize that I should try out at least one of Apple products before bashing it. I am awfully wanting an Ipad but I'm not sure why I would need one yet. It great for games and pretty must wasting time. But where ever I go, I'm 90% of the time, near a computer.

I blame Woot.com for this to and myself for looking at the site when the product went up. It was $150 plus $5 for shipping but I just couldn't pass it up. I wanted to try an apple product. I figure if I want an iPad then maybe this Ipod Touch will prove to me that I should get a iPad. Although to get that, I would need to find $500 bucks to spend. That won't be easy. Frankly I'm surprised that I spent this much for Ipod Touch.

I admit, I'm pretty excited. I wanna try all the popular apps people keep raging about. Let hope this refurbished gadget holds up long enough for me to enjoy it. My question to all the readers out there, do you have any suggestions on apps to try out? If so then leave a comment! I will give a review once it arrives on my doorstep. When first approached with this idea, I had the perfect answer: The internet ate my...relationship. After some though I wonder if it was the internet that only nibbled and LIFE that actually ate it.

Marriage is hard! Whoever thinks that spending the remainder of your life with another person is anything but difficult has much to learn. After being married for eight years, it has only gotten mildly easier. The idea of being married is sometimes much greater than the act of marriage, and you eventually learn to ignore horrible personality traits that were once your "pet peeves". This does not account for every annoying little habit. Mine (according to my husband) is my numerous male friends that I speak to online. One of which will be posting this blog (thanks Bobby). I have had the same instant messaging screen names since the age of sixteen and haven't actually spent the time to delete some of the guys from a decade ago. So when random windows with "Hey there, Sexy" opened suddenly, the hubby didn't believe me when I said "I don't know him". Seriously, who remembers everyone you spoke to when you were sixteen? Unless you're sixteen.

Add facebook, myspace, and emails full of spam porn into the mix and you are all set for one huge marital disaster. After months of feeling guilty for having an online social-life, my husband finally realized that it was a moot point.

Yeah, most of my friends are guys, online and in real life. Yeah, sometimes I tend to be somewhat flirty, but he understands I'm still here...sometimes arguments ensue, we lose our tempers, and hurtful words fly, but all in all we got married to spend our lives together, why let the little ol' internet eat our relationship. Love is work, but it is fun, fulfilling, and something to be proud to have found.

Today I Scared My Boss by Accident

So yeah today I was at work for the Jazz Brunch. Every Sunday we have a Jazz guy come in and play the Sax to some music. This has been going on for 5 years now. I'm sitting down, chilling, messing with the computer and my boss/owner walks. I say Hi. He almost shit himself. He clutching his chest. I'm like oh god don't have a heart attack now. He an old guy. Probably like 60. He says "Damn I didn't know anyone would be up here. Of course I'm up here! You saw me walk around earlier. All that time I could of ditched work because he thinks i just turn the board on and go home. Anywho he grabs a few things in the room and took off.

About a year ago,the boss thought the Jazz guy brought in his own equipment. Why would he when he can just easily use ours. My boss is seriously not aware what going on in the entertainment department.

Oh yes it that wonderful time again. The time I get to tell you wonderful passionate readers the joys of discovering new and inventive websites. They can range from serious to har har funny type sites. You are just dieing to know what it is huh? Alright let get to it shall we.

The feature website for today is pretty much geared towards anyone who owns a website or a blog of some sort. If your into social media and would like to have your content shared in a creative way then look no more! I introduce you to... Sexy Bookmarks!

Have you ever notice those little icons at the bottom of every one of my posts? Those are the sexy bookmarks! Pretty neato add on right? Do you know how long it took me to find it? An entire day! I spent countless hours searching for it. I came across a site that had those. I was thinking, that pretty fucking cool. Days later, I saw the sexy bookmarks at another site. Now I'm thinking, "Ok, someone out there is providing this and need to know where". Jumped on Google and did some searching. After awhile of endless upon endless searching, I came up with nada. On the verge of quitting, I tried one more search. Thinking "Ok that a sexy bookmarking type add on, let type sexy bookmarks just for kicks". Low and behold, I found them! Believe me, I was doing the happy happy joy joy dance right after.

Some tidbits about Sexy Bookmarks, it originally made for Wordpress as a plug-in. It got all the major social websites like Twitter, Facebook, Google Buzz (recently added), reddit. It also has some sites you might have never heard. If you use blogger, then this guide will help you add sexy bookmarks to it. Recently Sexy Bookmarks was aquired by Shareaholic. Which is nice because I also use their Firefox add on. I would love to see Sexy Bookmarks have options to easily add their plugin to blogs or websites other than just Wordpress. iPad vs The Competition

Since the release of the Apple's iPad, there are now companies developing their own tablet that want to best the iPad. Which one should we invest your hard earn money for? Let break it down on what tablets are out there and upcoming tablets.

First you got the iPad made by Apple. The current iPads available only have wifi at the price of $499 for a 16GB. Then you have the 32GB for $599 and 64GB for $699. Later this month, Apple is gonna release a wifi + 3G iPads for $130 more then the wifi version. So the 16GB wifi/3G version will be $629. Ouch. That will put a dent in your wallet. Pay that much with no multi-tasking and no flash support. Tsk tsk. They say you really don't need flash. Guess it depends on the user. If used outside in direct sunlight, the iPad will complain about temperature. It got incredible battery life. You could use it all day and still have about 60% battery life left.
I've heard on podcasts that if you're not a Apple fan and think that the iPad is just another hot ticket item that a must have and I will never get one. They say if you actually hold one in your hands and play with it, you might just fall in love. I can see that happening to me if I ever see one in person. My fingers have never touch one yet.

Secondly. We got the JooJoo. Which is available now. Engadget did their review here . JooJoo has a 12 inch widescreen. Their specs say it has only 4GB, wifi, bluetooth, flash support, 1 USB port, a microphone. All that for $500. Joojoo only has one version. If you read the review, then you know that the Joojoo is pretty awful. But the company says it gonna roll out updates to fix those problems. IMO I wouldn't buy a $500 tablet with only 4GB.

Thirdly, it not out yet but there the WePad. Available in June for 450 Euro for the 16GB. Which equals to $600 if the currency converter is correct. There a 32GB for 569 Euros. Also supports an optional 3G. The WePad is built on Android and Linux technology. 11 inch screen. That 2 inches bigger then the iPad. It got multitasking, 2 USB ports, a web cam, sim card slot, card reader, flash support, bluetooth, GPS (optional), amber light sensor, motion sensor. You can download android apps. Fourth, there the Dell Streak. Comes in 2 sizes, 7 inch and a 10 inch. With a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash. Capacitive touch front buttons, front-facing VGA camera (for video chatting) and the 30-pin docking connector. No confirmed release date or pricing has been announced by Dell.

Fifth, there the HP Slate. Engadget found some interesting tidbits about the HP Slate. 5 hour battery life. 1080p playback, SD/SDHC/SDXC card reader, 1 USB port, HDMI out port, VGA webcam. The image also shows there might be 2 versions of the Slate. 32 and 64GB Slate. Prices range from $549 - $599. No date confirmed either.

Then lastly there the rumor Google Tablet. Not much information to report other than it may have a Android OS instead of Chrome OS. I believe that all the information circling around the web, or tablets that I know of at the moment. FYI, I'm not in a rush to buy one. I'm gonna wait and see if competitors come out with something better. You know Apple, next year they will release a 2nd generation iPad. If I have to choose one right now then I must say iPad wins hands down. Even though I really don't want to install the Itunes on my computer. The WePad sounds interesting. The price is not to interesting. But I'm going by the currency converter. If anyone knows the real price, let me know. Why I picked the iPad is because there are a number of apps i love to try. One of them being We Rule. It a sim like game. Another is God Finger. Like I said earlier, the battery life is flat out amazing. Any iPad user will tell you how good the batter life is.

Bad Drivers Suck!

Today was just one of those days of bad drivers. Not me of course. I'm an excellent driver. I'm gonna brag. No accidents what so ever knock on wood. Got pulled over once for going 10 miles over the speed limit. Other then that I'm a damn good driver. It the crappy old farts, the I just got my license teens and general tourists that are the bad drivers I'm surrounded with.

Today I was behind a old couple who loved driving 5 miles under the speed limit. I just wanna ram them off the road! I couldn't go around because I'm driving on a 2 lane road with cars coming the other way. So there I am stuck behind this car for a good 10 minutes. Finally my turn off comes and he getting off as well. Shit! Now I'm stuck behind the car even more. My other turn off is coming up. I merge over to the turn off lane. YES! He going straight ahead! Whoa dude, why are you drifting over over my lane! Stay in your lane you slow fuck! Old guy couldn't not keep the car within the lines. One of many reasons why people over 70 should not have a license. Similar experience last night, a truck behind me was drifting back n forth. I could hear his tires riding over the rumble stripes. Other nights, I get a lot of people driving with their high beams on and doesn't have the courtesy to goto low beams when passing an on coming car. Those people need to have their tires slashed.

I should also add that I don't have major road rage. If I see a bad driver, I generally just insult the douchebag to myself. Crack jokes or whatever. But never ever flip off anyone on the road. Your just asking for trouble then. My sister on the other hand, does have some road rage issue. She will scream her head off if someone cuts her off. Let say, I don't like being in the car with her.

I got started in community theatre in 1997. I was 12-ish. I had honestly never been to the theatre before and had no clue that it would develop into a life-long passion and an ultimate career choice. The great thing about the theatre is that it creates an escape. When you act on stage, you can be any character you want. When you direct, you create a world as you want it to be. When you design it, you get to explore different times and cultures. When you’re a producer, you get to have your ass worshipped by everyone else.

What, you may ask, does this have to do with blogging? Blogging is, surprisingly, a lot like the Theatre!
When I first started blogging, I experienced the same issues in the creative process. I experienced confusion, doubt and frustration. The tiny successes helped to keep me from stopping. Ultimately, I had to find my own way. I had to decide what it is that I wanted to create.

Bloggers are, in a way, much like actors. There is a consistent desire to connect with others, but underneath there is a (sometimes not so) subtle narcissism. Sometimes, the more popular the blogger becomes, the bigger the diva. But at the heart of every diva is the consummate artist. Yes the followers, the comments, the affirmations are all wonderful, but a truly wonderful blogger will continue to seek out opportunities to expand their experiences and express their feelings.

Yes, the life of a blogger seems glamorous. But the authentic blogger will continue to feel many of the insecurities that they feel when they first start because each post is an opportunity to explore their creativity and, ultimately, their world.

So what is the best part of blogging? The thundering ovations? The glamorous glittering costumes? The sexy sets? The best part of blogging, is about the personal growth you achieve through the creative process. So in the words of the theatre goddess Debbie Reynolds, chins up, boobs out, it’s showtime!

I should let you all know that tomorrow something new will happen on this site. I am not gonna spoil anything right now. All I can say is that everyone else was doing it. So I just followed along. That what I do, is follow what everyone else does. It not gonna be a weekly thing but it may happen once in awhile. So keep a look out tomorrow. I will post it sometime in the afternoon.

Ok what up with my leg! Last week, I had a dried blood on my right leg that I didn't even feel. It came from a scrap that I do not remember getting. Today i have a scratch on my right leg that I don't know where or how it happen. I'm thinking my right leg is disconnecting and doing odd shit without me noticing. I don't remember bumping into anything.

Let see I also bought a 16GB Kingston thumb drive for $25 from Amazon. Bad news is that it temporarily out of stock. For $25, it not a bad price. My phone is acting all weird to. Now it starting to pocket dial on me or randomly shutting off while in the pocket. My phone is the LG Env Touch. It never pocket dialed before but now it is. I haven't changed any settings. It could be possessed by demons...who knows.

Is it Wednesday already? Man time sure does fly by when your doing nothing. But hey welcome to this week edition to Website Wednesday. It that special day when I get to tell the world about the wonderful websites I've seen with my two little eyes. These so called websites can range from funny to down right serious.

Remember back when I said there be a website that might entertain you for 5 seconds. Well this is one them. Website for the day is.... Stupid Fight! I came across this gem of a site yesterday. What this site does is you type 2 Twitter users names, press the battle button and see got the dumbest followers. Pretty stupid right? Wanna see an example? Sure take a gander at the picture below.

So your wondering what decides on who got dumber fans? According to the website, it based on several factors. Are they using abbreviations like OMG or LOL. How many exclamation points are the followers usings!!!!! You get the idea.

Best Chat Client: Trillian

For the record I been using Trillian since the year 2001 and ever since then I been loving it. But now it gotten better. I will tell you why in a bit. Let get to the general features of Trillian first if you don't know anything about it.

Basically what does is combines all your favorite chat clients into a single program. Albeit a few missing features with the basic version. More about that soon. So what services does it include? It got...

I use the first 5 services almost every day. I did dabble with Twitter but I just did not like the layout on Trillian. So I immediately disabled it. As for the ones I did try, they work pretty well as a basic chat. One feature I do like is that it saves your chats for you in .txt file. Which you can open in Notepad or open it from Trillian. I love the new Astra look It more sleek and cleaner then previous versions. One small fact about Astra was that it been in development for many years and it finally came out like a year ago. You can also reduce clutter and have tabbed chat windows. Neato huh? Plus the fact that when you start it up, it automatically logs in the services you to want use.

The downside to Trillian is that the IM services themselves provide more features for free then Trillian. You have to pay $25 just to get those features. For me, I'm ok with just installing those clients and running those when I need it. Only one color scheme available for the free version and the default blue scheme. The rest you would have to pay the $25 to get. Not wise in my opinion.

Here what really made Trillian stand out for me. They just included a web based client. No download required. You goto http://www.trillian.im and sign in to what ever chat service you want. If you signed up for a Astra account, that remembers your log in information. So just log in using your Astra account and BINGO! Your logged into your chat services, No need to log in to each one separately. I love that!! Now I can goto work and use trillian with out downloading anything. Go on trips and still be able to chat with my friends. Yes Meebo does offer the same thing. Although I have not used it.

There you have it. Few reasons why I love it. There other clients out their the does the same thing. For example, Digsby is another multi-client chat program. Just be careful with it because I've read reports that it contains software you don't want. So when you do the installation, be sure to watch out for that. Trillian does not do that. My ISP Blows

Before going any further, I should say that my ISP is Mediacom. They are 1 of 2 internet service providers for this area. The other is Verizon DSL. Not fast compared to Mediacom. Here is my speed for Mediacom ...

I did a test today but not quite impressive as this one

Not bad speeds. Actually I think the speeds are just fine for me. I could use a boost in upload to host a decent Xbox Live game. Just for shit n giggles, I'm including a ping test. Awesome ping I may say.

If I move outside this area then I can get Comcast. Verizon DSL is my backup internet now. Verizon DSL is decent for basic web browsing, emailing, chat. I didn't do a speed test but their average download is about 3mbps and around 700kbps for upload. Not recommended for online gaming. Anyway thank god I did because fucking Mediacom blows when it comes to uptime.

I come home last night from work and notice the internet is down. Ok no problem. I'll go to my back up. 3 hours later, Mediacom is still down. My roommate tells me that the internet was down for 10 hours. 10 FUCKING HOURS! To me that really unacceptable. What really blows my horn is that Mediacom never ever sends out an email telling me that they will cut off the internet for so and so hours for maintenance. No website with a status update. Not even their twitter account mentions anything about the servers being down. That what peeves me about this company is that they just don't inform their customers about this sort of stuff. They did however emailed us that they were gonna change their web email clients and web hosting. In that email they said that this switchover will no way affect us. Well it did. It lead to a month of internet dropping out. Way before that, It did the same thing. Internet would drop out almost everyday. I said, screw it let get Verizon DSL as a back up. Came in handy many many times. They'll be a period of 1-2 months of 24/7 uptime but then their will be a week of the internet dropping out every night. Then back to normal for another month or 2.

Fraking Mediacom!!

Can't remember who told me but I vaguely remember a friend saying that Mediacom buys really cheap servers. I'm frankly not surprised. Those servers must crap out a lot. That probably why their costs is so low. Now what I'm hearing is that Mediacom is going for 50/5 and 100/10 speeds now. Both not available in my area just yet. I am assuming that both will be expensive. I'm not complaining about speeds, just the uptime. Mediacom has horrible horrible horrible uptime. My fellow readers, how does your ISP compare? Hey Hey it the second edition of Website Wednesday. Where I tell you what websites you should be visiting during your internet travels. What is wrong with the world today? I wake up and see that it 90 degrees outside. Yesterday was a cool 70 degrees. Today it decides to jump up 20 degrees. Now i got friends telling me that it snowing Utah. Whaaaaaaat?! 2012 is happening early! The ice caps are gonna melt. The end is nigh! What sucks is that I don't have the A/C units put in yet. Yes i need A/C units or what my dad calls them is window shakers. This old house does not have central air. So each year, we have to put them in and take them back out. Now I gotta drag out a fan to keep my cool. I'm surprised I didn't wake up in a puddle of sweat. Looking at the forecast for tomorrow, it seems to be the same as today. This isn't spring anymore. It summer now. Spring decided to retire this year and said "Hey Summer take over. I'll come back next year."

On another note, I join a group of bloggers who created Bloggerstock. What it is, is we come up with a theme to blog about. We take that and put it on another blog with a link back to our own. What this hopefully does is create some new traffic. Letting you all know that later this month, a foreign post will appear on my precious site. Here a link to Bloggerstock. It might be corny but I like corny. :)

Family Friendly Image

I live near a town in Maryland called Ocean City. They pride themselves in being a family resort town. We have beaches, a boardwalk, miniature golf courses, 2 small amusement parks and tons of hotels, motels, restaurants, and bars.

Today I come across this news article that Ocean City has rejected a bus ad of a tattoo shop called "Independant Tattoo" Here the article..

"OCEAN CITY, Md.- Ocean City recently rejected a proposed bus ad promoting a tattoo company believing it didn't fit with the resorts "family-friendly" image, according to City Manager Dennis Dare.
Dare said the town has a policy to refuse certain ads on town-owned property, like buses. Those include ads that promote alcohol, cigarettes or contain political messages.
The Fenwick tattoo store that planned to display its ad on town buses, Independent Tattoo, said it disagrees with the town's notion that tattoos aren't "family-friendly."
"Everybody here is part of a family. Husbands, wives, children," said store manager Tasha Nilsen. "This business employs people with families . . . entire families come here to get tattooed. "Nielsen said the store received a refund from the ad agency it purchased the ad through."

How stupid is that? Come on this town has a fraking porn shop. Soon after the town councils made it where they can't add any more porn shops. Plus there a bar at every few blocks. Well a restaurant with a bar in it. Shitloads of places to get alcohol around here is what I'm saying. So at night, it not really so family friendly. So what wrong with a tattoo ad on a bus? Answer NOTHING!! If you click on link above, it shows a picture of the ad. It a fraking flower you dimwits! You know how many people come to this town with a tattoo? Almost everyone! You can't go a few feet without seeing a girl tramp stamp.

Oh I like how it says they don't want advertisements that promote alcohol. I've seen ads that promotes a bar. Isn't that pretty much promoting alcohol? I say so!! So let the little tattoo shop have it ad. It not gonna hurt the towns overall business. Tourist are gonna come, they will spend their money. They will take their families to the beaches just like they do every year. Christ I've seen mom and dad drink around their kids. I think seeing a tattoo ad will not hurt their fragile little minds. Another thing, we got slot machines coming. Is that family friendly? Probably not because it gonna take away other people business. Sorry if you don't have a better product then you will lose. People love to gamble.

What we do need is more porn shops and a strip joint. Just to fully round out the place. Give the tourist more options. That is all.

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen. Welcome to Website Wednesday. Where I tell you fine folks about a website I come across in my daily interweb surfing. These websites are gonna be anything that will help you in your daily life, a funny blog perhaps. It could be a website of a start up business. Or it could be a website that will just entertain your brain for 5 seconds.

Why am I doing this? Well I do a lot of social networking and I get links to various websites from friends or from Twitter. Also watch a lot of Leo Laporte and his guest talk about some cool website they saw. It got me thinking, I should let others know about these cool websites. Some of them are stupid and some of them are just plain great to have in your daily life.

I recently discovered a trailer thanks to The Nerdist, that the movie Kick Ass is just more than meets the eye. I assume the movie is just a bunch of kids beating up criminals in ridiculous costumes. Not true! See for yourself.

What you saw was Hit Girl kicking the shit out of those guys. Chopping limbs off, shooting them in the head and cussing in front of daddy. My anticipation for this movie has now been bumped up a few notches. Plus it cast McLovin. Everyone loves McLovin. I know it also has Nicolas Cage. I am not to thrilled about him either.

God of War 3 Review

I am just gonna come out and say it, buy this game! If your a fan of the previous 2 then it a no brainer that you will love the 3rd. The almighty Kratos vows revenge on the gods. Will he prevail? Let get down to it shall we.

Story: Story takes place right after GOW2 ends. Kratos is on his way to take revenge on the gods. Nothing new really. You do get some back stories on a couple of characters. The introduction alone got me pumped up to play. Through artsy style animation, you get a quick overview of the story.

Controls: The only gripes i have about the controls is that we should be allow to control the camera. This game is gorgeous to look at. Sometimes you wanna stop and just take it all in. Other then that, controls are basically the same. They did however move the magic button from L2 to R2. L2 is now use item button. Took me awhile to get use to it.

Gameplay: I admit the gameplay is very linear. Not much areas to explore. After playing the previous 2 games, solving the puzzles this time around seem easier to do. Also quick time events are easier to pull off. The buttons appear on screen like they do on your controller. For example the X button will appear at the bottom of the screen instead of the right side of the screen. The triangle would appear at the top of screen and so forth. HIGHLIGHT THE SPOILERS the first 20 mins of the game is action packed. A lot is happening around you. You got titans climbing and falling. Your fighting on Gaia arm. The fight with Poseidon is pretty damn epic in my opinion. The first person view of Poseidon getting his ass whooped is something to cherish. To bad this only happens twice in the entire game. This time around you get some new weapons to play with. Each weapon has it own magic ability. Grappling ability is really cool to use.

Graphics: Gotta say, it the best looking game on the PS3 so far. My friends say that Uncharted 2 was good looking. I have not play Uncharted 2 but I think God of War 3 beats it in graphics. During the cut scenes, some characters do look a bit to shiny for my taste. Kratos looks stunning. You can see the pores on his face. When doing a boss battle or mini boss battle, when their blood spraying, it does show up on Kratos.

Sound: I noticed that most of the character dialog took place on my rear speakers. Kratos would talk on the center speaker and the other characters would talk in the rear speakers. Weird. Same with the behind the scene videos. All dialog took place on the rear speakers. I complained before that some movies didn't make use of the rear speakers. Guess Santa Monica studios was reading my blog.

Longevity: After beating the game you can go back and play it again on the much harder difficulty modes. Some items you pick up during the game, you can use in your next play through. Then you got the challenge of the titans. There also behind the scene videos. Be sure to check those out.

Overall: It a fantastic game if your a God of War fan. I only have a few grips. The need to control the camera. The shiny character models on a few characters. Dialog on the rear speakers didn't quite fit with the game. Did run into a glitch when trying to save a game at the save point, the R1 button did not appear. To fix that I ran towards the camera then back to the save point and that fix it. Only experience that towards the end of the game. One forum, someone mentioned a animation glitch during a boss battle. Didn't happen to me.

Rating: 9/10

Spring is Here & Soon The Pollen

Weather is warming up. Flowers are blooming. Birds are singing. Yes spring time is here. But what spring also brings is something so evil that I die a little inside when I speak about it. That evil is POLLEN! Spring is great and all but I think everyone that does read this agrees that we all hate pollen a lot. It covers everything included our cars and house.

This is not my car but i do get this amount of pollen every spring.

Not to mention that it kicks starts my allergies. That the number one reason why we hate it. Where I live, I am completely surrounded by trees. So avoiding pollen is nearly impossible unless I become a hermit and stay indoors for about 3 months. Or become a bubble boy. Or maybe move to the middle of nowhere. Another thing spring brings back are the bugs.....bleh

What weird is that one year, my allergies will hit me like a ton of bricks when pollen starts to fall from the trees. Another year, it comes towards the end of the season. Those times, I tell myself "YES! Avoided being sick this season!" Only to have my hopes crush when I do get sick 2 days later. I like to avoid that this year please.

I like fall because it basically the same as spring but instead of pollen, you have leaves falling. All you have to do is rake them up. For me I just let nature blow the leaves into my neighbor's yard. *evil laughter* Plus they don't mess with your allergies. Hooray for fall season! *sneezes* Oh no.....

Love Animated Movies in Hi Def

With Toy Story and Toy Story 2 releasing on Bluray today, it got me thinking how much I love animated movies in high definition. I have some of the CGI movies like

Both Toy Story movies will fit nicely into my collection. All I need is Pixar to release Finding Nemo and The Incredibles. A Bugs life is also on bluray. I need to buy that too. Right now it $28 bucks. So I gonna have to wait till it drops in price. Problem with Pixar movies on bluray is that they are so darn expensive upon release day. Both Toy Story movies are gonna be about $23 each. What I just learned that if you buy both together, you get $10 off. If your in the market, get both now for $35. I think that a good deal. If you a prime member, 2 day shipping always free. I love Amazon Prime.

So with animated movies, you get crystal clear picture. Which I love. The colors just pop on screen. One thing I hate about other movies is that there grain/film noise in some of the bluray movies. I hate film grain in my movies. I do not care at all about the directors vision. I did not pay $1200 for my 46 inch Samsung LCD TV to watch film grain. It the year 2010. All future blurays should have crystal clear picture. It a no brainer. I hope Avatar has the best picture and sound quality. For all the money it put into making that movie, it gotta have the best picture and sound. No questions.

Oh glorious day in the United States of America. The government or gumment finally pass the bill for health care reform. The bill passed in a 219-212 vote. That pretty damn close. What does this mean for me? Well I can finally fulfill my dreams of sword swallowing, grenade juggling and sticking my head in a alligator's mouth. Yes my secret is out! I live a very dangerous life. One that requires health care but no insurance agency will take me. That ends today folks. The government will now provide health care to those millions of americans that lack some sort of health care plan. Hospitals have to accept it right? Because it provided by our lovely government.

Come on everyone! Go out and live your life dangerously! Ever wanted to bang that hooker on the street corner? Now you can! If she diseased, who cares because you are covered by our new health care.

Stupid Pointless Rant

Past couple weekends, I notice there quite a few wedding parties wondering about my workplace. Which got me thinking, are people not spending enough on their own reception nowadays?

Why am I seeing a wedding party pull up in their fancy limos, get out, enter the building and start ordering drinks? Are they to cheap to have a reception? Is the economy really that bad? Or is it that the we are having the reception early because grandma and grandpa need to be in bed by 6pm? Now letting you all know that we were not hosting their reception per say. These wedding couples and their guests just showed up out the blue. I'm not saying that it bad. Making money off these people who already spent a few thousand dollars on their wedding/reception. Must not be that good since they have to stay out and continue to drink. Suppose to get shitfaced at the reception. That the fun part people!!! I wanna see those funny groom or bride just face plant on the floor videos on Youtube or AFV. Some of these people did look sober when they got here. I dunno, i just find it weird.

In my lifetime, I been to 3 weddings and all 3 the reception lasted all night. Yes 3! I'm not big on dressing up. Not once did anyone said, hey let continue the party somewhere else. Mostly because they were to shit face to walk and talk. If your guests are not shit face by the end of it, it was a crappy party. Sorry. Maybe you should of spent more for a open bar. Must be a new trend now. Pay for the wedding and just go out to a bar afterwards. If that happens, let me know. Because I plan on not taking that much money with me to a wedding reception. No one should, to be honest. I'm expecting free drinks god damn it!! And cake.

Unplug For a Day? Hell No!

Yesterday was unplugging for the Sabbath day. Basically unplugging from the iphone or if you wish any technology for 24 hours. Hardly anyone texts or calls me these days. I could do that with ease. If I had an iphone, that might be a bit harder to do. Not really sure. I suppose I could still turn off the iphone for 24 hours.

But If someone ask me to unplug from my computer for 24 hours, may lord have mercy on their soul. That asking me not to breathe! I need my computer. I need to know what going on around the interwebs. I need to know what my twitter friends are tweeting. I would just go crazy! I couldn't do it. I can for a few hours but after that, i would need to hop on a computer and see what going on. When I had a blackout early February during the 2nd winter storm, i had nothing to pass the time. No book to read around the house. My laptop only gets about 2 hours of battery life. I was basically stuck with twirling my thumbs for a few hour. Computers fills that gap of boredom. Oh man no power for 24 hours? Everyone would crazy. We are all dependent on power. Well except those amish people. Their weird folks. They won't see this, they have no electricity. Muahahaha

Unplugging from the tv or the Xbox is not hard for me either but i couldn't do that for more than a day. I love technology and technology is a part of my life. That just me. What other things should we unplug from for 24 hours? Cars? Some sort of food or drink? Alcohol? Gaming? Clothing? Yeah no clothing for a day. I be there for that. Fat chicks are exempt from it. hehe

8 Firefox Extensions That I Must Have

Yes I am doing one of these top 5 10 15 20 whatever blogs. But I'm gonna go a slightly different route and have a top 8 list. Recently I been adding some extensions lately. All I been saying to myself was, why haven't been using these before! So let get to it. First off,

Adblock Plus - I been using Adblock ever since I been using Firefox. It a must have. If your reading this, then most likely you already know about it. If you don't know then you are living in a cave. If you are using Firefox, download this extension now. Block those stupid ads. I've came across a few website owners that hate it because if you block their ads because they don't get their money. I point and laugh.
ColorfulTabs - This extension beautifies your Firefox. It does what is says, makes your tabs colorful. You can customize it by having colors be random, colors based on domain name or set your own colors by right clicking on the tab. You could also fine tune the the colors to be as light or dark as possible.
Aniweather - Yes it a another weather extension but this one ANIMATES! You get your current weather on your status bar. When you hover your cursor over it, a little window pops up that has your local weather that animates. If you click on it, you get your 4 day outlook that also animates. How fucking cool is that. It even has radar maps that also animate. You can customize what you want to show up on the status bar. The appearance of your Aniweather. Downside is that depending on the website, if they have embedded video, the pop up will show up somewhere else. Not a big issue.
FEBE - FEBE backs up your extensions, themes, bookmarks and other Firefox related data to a specified folder. You can set it to back up daily, monthly or whatever. You can set it to only back up your extensions or just bookmarks. It wonderful and I do recommend trying it out.
Feedly - This gem turns your RSS feeds into a magazine like layout. Add a feed, preview it to see if it works then subscribe. This is one of my newest extension I became in love with. It easy to read. You can share the articles with friends. Separate each RSS feed into tabs. Only downside is not having the abilityto changing the layout a little. The ability to change the colors. One thing to point out is that it has a mini side bar for when you see something you like, you can share it. It a little distraction IMO but you can turn it off in the preferences.
Stumbleupon - I haven't been using it much but it is handy for those really slow days. Discover some creative website with a click of a button. Tell Stumble what type of website you like. For example, humor, technology, sports, etc. You can even tell it to stumble on certain website like The Onion, CNN, Funny or Die.
Speed Dial - Just like Opera browser, speed dial is collection of your favorite websites on one page. You can set it up to have as many links as you want. Even organize them into groups. I mostly use the drop down menu from the icon to access my websites faster. You can have speed dial load when creating a new tab or when you load up Firefox.
Shareaholic - If you come across something you like on the interwebs, share it with Shareaholic. You can customize what service you want to show up when you click on the icon like Twitter, Facebook, Digg, reddit, Delicious, etc. Plus you have the option to have the Shareaholic button appear on the URL bar, context menu or main navigation menu.

Greasemonkey - I only have a youtube script that allows me to download their videos. Still looking for more scripts that really puts this thing over the top. If you got suggestions, let me know.

I have been summoned to jury duty

FUUUUCK! Random process my ass. I should of known that I would be picked once I fill out and sent that form I received last November. If you ever have to fill out a form for Jury Duty and it says it a random process of picking people, don't believe it!! It a bunch of crap! You will get picked! Damn it, I am not looking forward to this at all. It my first but still don't feel like going through all this shit. Some say you should do it since it my first time. I say back to them "that not the answer im looking for." Get me out of this!!
Ok let start from the beginning. Last Friday, I went to my mailbox before work and saw a envelope from the Jury Commission. I'm like fuck! Now the rest of my day is totally screwed because this will be on my mind all day long. Once I arrived home, i immediately opened the letter. Of course it says i have been summoned to Jury Duty in the month of April. Not 1 letter, 2 letters plus the actual summons and a pamphlet of the most frequently ask questions. Why I got 2 letters stating the same thing is weird. Waste of paper in my opinion. What I like it that the letter says that I have to call a machine to see if I actually have to come in. Letter says i have to come in Thursday April 1....wait a minute is this a fucking prank? Haha funny! If the machine says don't come in today then i do not have to show up. I do have to call everyday for the month of April to see what I need to do. Cool I don't need to waste my time getting dressed up, driving 20 miles, sitting there and do nothing everyday in April.
The pamphlet that came with the letter is kinda reassuring about the whole thing. Under the "How long will I serve?" It states that most trials last one to two days. Some can last several weeks or on rare occasions several months. Man I better not get one of those trials. I want the one to two day trials. In the "What happens next?" section, it says during jury selection, will be sworn in and then ask some questions like "If I have any knowledge of the case", "If I have any personal interest in the outcome" or "any interest in the case that might make it hard to be impartial". So If i want that son of bitch to get the death penalty as the my outcome question, will they not select me? What can I bring to the courtroom? Absolutely nothing at all! Not even a fucking magazine. What am I suppose to do while I wait? Pick my nose or twirl my thumbs? I understand the no bringing of food or drinks nor chew gum but damn let me bring some sort of reading material.

Does anyone have any tips for me to get through this? I need some reassuring. Maybe I should watch that movie Jury Duty with Pauly Shore.

Blur Multiplayer Beta Impressions

On Sunday, I was lucky enough to score a code to get into the multiplayer beta for Blur. The upcoming chaotic arcade racer that mixes Mario Kart and Burnout. During a race, you get power ups along the way that range from mines, 3 missles, a homing ball of doom, lightning, shockwave, repair, shield and boosters.

At the start, it was just Warlokk, Kajota and me. I was hosting a party. Not aware that it wasn't a private lobby, just a party. 2 choices available were skirmish and power up. Unbeknown to me that you cannot set up a private race. I thought that was kind of dumb for a beta. Not sure what the developers were thinking in not letting us have that option. Once you choose what type of race you want, you are thrown into a lobby with the general public. Power Up racing can hold up to 20 players. Let me tell you, it can be quite chaotic at times. Especially at the first turn. Anywho, in the lobby, once you rank up to level 3 and beyond (max is 10 for the beta), you will start unlocking more cars and the mod shop. Cars range from classic muscle cars like the camaro to modern like the Land Rover or the Focus RS. All of them seem to the handle the same. In the mod shop, you can choose 4 type of mods. There the rounded, aggressive, defensive and forgot the 4th. Certain mods give you a random power up at the start of the race or after you crash.

Once you start racing, you will have fun. Just don't expect a clean race. All the races i was in were very crazy. Your dodging power ups and other people, all while your trying to take those guys out. One thing i didn't like was when your car spins out, the game resets your car. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't. One race, my car spun out a little but i could of easily rejoin the race but the game decided to reset my car. Thus knocking me back a few positions. What also weird that amongst the craziness, the same 2 people seems to win every race. Very odd.

Controls are very easy to learn. Once you learn them, you are golden. Definitely a pick up and play type racer. Lobby looks good. We were allowed to 2 vote between 2 cities to race in. After each race, trying to find out who came what position was a little difficult to read. I do like the stats on who got the fastest lap, or least accurate, most damage etc. Also notice that the full version will allow you to tweets your game stats or whatever it gonna tweet. Needs more powers up and mods for sure.

Overall I like it but not sure if it worth $60 bucks. Fun game I must say. This will be a depends how many on my friends list will playing it situation.

Vajazzling - Another dumb fad created by women.

Vajazzling defined by Urbandictionary.com is "the act of applying glitter and jewels to a woman's nether regions for aesthetic purposes." This trend became public when Jennifer Love Hewitt talked about it on Lopez Tonight. I learned about it on the Bob and Tom show. They had one of their female guest get "vajazzled". I'm thinking, this is some stupid shit. Girls nowadays have tramp stamps, piercings, body glitter and now this! How many more sparkly shit do you girls need?

Not only do you girls accuse us guys for looking at your pushed out cleavage, now you will accuse us at looking at your shiny area near your vajayjay. How can we not look at it. It shiny. Shiny stuff does attract a guys attention. So don't yell at us when we stare down in that region. Tell me, do you think that region of your body needs to be decorated with glitter and rhinestones? Are you afraid of some guy saying "holy shit, that the ugliest looking vagina I ever seen!" You think when you decorate it, he gonna say "wow that beautiful" then start banging your brains out. No! Leave that area alone! Besides it a waste of money.

What next ladies? Who gonna create the next stupid trend to wear every day that looks hideous and pointless to have but you need it because it soo popular. I'm so lucky to be a guy. I don't need to have rhinestones glued to my skin. If guys start doing this then the human race just got dumber. End rant.

Say no to the Oscars & ABC!

Really why should I watch it? Bunch of celebs receiving some shiny gold statue with a lot of blah blah blah talk. Why is there so much buzz on the Oscars? Big Whoop de do that there 10 nominees for best picture. I don't wanna waste 3 hours on a boring award show. Instead i'll waste 2 and a half hours on watching Bad Boys 2 on NBC. Plus director Michael Bay won a razzie for worse director. Yeah gotta support him on that. We all know the highlights will be on Youtube or any other video site within a couple of hours. If something major happens, we will know via Twitter. Frankly I'm only interested in Best Picture. I do not wanna sit through 3 hours just for that award. I think ABC doing Cablevision customers a favor by not letting them see it. Those customers should be out celebrating in the streets right now. Also fuck ABC! Come on give Cablevision a break. Quit trying to squeeze money from the cable companies. You take more money from them, they take more money from us.

How would I react if I lost ABC? Hmm, let see I would only be missing about 4 shows. America's Funniest Videos, Lost, Castle, and Modern Family. So I'll be kinda pissed. FYI, Modern Family is fantastic show. Everyone should watch it. /plug I just don't get what up with these broadcasters wanting more and more money. They make enough from advertisers. Quit asking for more! You got Fox vs Time Warner, Mediacom vs Sinclair where Sinclair wanted more money from Mediacom to carry the Fox network and now Cablevision vs ABC. Since NBC is owned by Comcast, their no way those two are gonna fight over money. Please let start doing a la carte cable. Let us the consumer pick the channels we want to watch. It 2010! Time to change the way we watch t.v. Because tv is our friend. Is there a cable company that has the balls to give us that? I dare you!

P.S - There a hidden camera inside those Oscar trophies for the big wigs in Hollywood can spy on their money making celebs for nude shots.

The product in question are these Cyber Acoustic computer speakers shown on the left.
These are the worst speakers I ever owned. Granted I do like the naked speakers and the auxiliary port. If you wanted to plug in a MP3 player and have music come through those speakers. Didn't use it all that much but it was nice to have.
So why do I hate them? Well when I plug in my headphones, you cannot hear anything unless you crank the volume all the way up. I do mean ALL the way up. They are fine with without headphones but once you plug it in, you gotta crank it up just to hear something. I use headphones so I don't disturb anyone else in this house. Once your done with the headphones, if you forget to turn it down, your in for a loud surprise. I have done that many many times. One night, after i got done listening to my music, I unplug the headphone jack from the speaker. Afterward I clicked on a Youtube video I came across on a message board. FRAKING HELL!! My left computer speaker is not working. Starting messing with the wires in the back to see if any of them came loose. Nope doesn't seem to be the case. Turn the speakers off and on. Nope that didn't help. Jiggle the wires again. Nothing! Shame...they died after 6 months. Tsk tsk.
It dawned on me that this is my golden opportunity to buy better speakers. Logged onto Amazon.com (best website ever) and looked up some computer speakers. I'm not a audiophile by any means, so I skip over those 3.1 computer speakers. I have no room to put in a small bass speaker. After some soul searching, I decided on the Eagle Tech ET-AR302-BK 2.0 Soundstage Speakers.

I been using them for about a week now and so far their fantastic. Headphone jack works like it should be. It does have those naked speakers like the ones in the Cyber Acoustic. No auxiliary port but will not miss it at all. If I had to rate the CA's, I give it a 4 out of 10. Thank you for reading. Have a good night!

And do it now! Come on it been a about a month now without Conan and severally miss him. I think he a lot better then Letterman, Leno and Kimmel combined. Come on who misses the Fonzie and Tom Cruise wax dolls? I DO! Damn you NBC for screwing him over. He deserve that 11:30 spot. But no just wanted to put Leno in that slot and push Conan back to midnight which pretty much puts him back to being the late late show.

I am disappointed in myself for not watching Conan when he was doing the late late show. I started watching him when he did the Tonight Show. Instantly fell in love with the show and became a Conan fan ever since. If I lived in LA, I would of been of those people standing out in the rain supporting Coco. Conan should of listen to Howard Stern. Watch this video of Howard Stern doing an interview and discussing about Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien.

Yeah I got lazy in blogging again. Got inspired to come back when i came across some rather interesting Blogger templates. After browsing hundreds of templates, I decided on this one. Called Grey-mag template. Made by Themecraft. If you saw my original layout, it was pretty dreadful. Colors were stupid. Layout was stupid. Everything was stupid about it! When I saw these wonderful free Blogger templates for me to use, I snatched them up. Before using this template, I was testing out some others but didn't turn out so well. On most of them, the main blogging portion was just to squished for my liking. Had to scan tons of code to find where to expand that area and it took a long time. I know some basic html but fuck it like finding a small needle in a giant haystack. Grey-mad was simple yet elegant. Plus I love those little buttons on the right side. Hope you enjoy it. It will be around for a bit then i'll get bored with it.

Twitter, Facebook, Last.fm & Zune Marketplace Review

Last week, I was lucky enough to get the latest preview update for the Xbox 360. The rest of the world will have to wait until November to download it. In this update, Facebook, Last.fm, Twitter and the Zune Marketplace are the major focal points. Now let start reviewing each of the programs.

Twitter:

Twitter is a simple program you can load up fast from the "My Community" section. Once loaded, you enter your screename and password. After that you will see the last 50 tweets of your followings. Press X on your controller and you can type up a tweet of your own via chatpad or the onscreen keyboard. Downside is that it won't tell you how many characters you have left. Now it a guessing game. Did I go over 140 characters? If you been twittering for more than 6 months, you will figure out if you went over 140 characters. Press done and you have tweeted from Xbox Live. Press Y to refresh the timeline. Press B to sign out. It also features trending topics and a search. Pretty basic twitter features. The team could of done more with it. Have twitter run in the background or maybe a little pop up box showing the latest tweets. Or maybe your avatar could interact a little more while tweeting. Obvious that links in tweets will not work. Although it be nice that if someone posted a picture on twitpic, you could be able to view it. Otherwise is a straight forward twitter app.

Facebook:

Unlike Twitter, Facebook is a free down loadable app. Doesn't take up a lot of space. Maybe 5mb of space. Could be wrong. Once loaded, you enter your email and password and viola Facebook on XBL. You can view your friends pictures, status updates, wall postings. A neat feature that I like is XBL friends on Facebook or Facebook friends on XBL. Here you can view who on Facebook has a XBL accounts or vice versa. Since this preview update just came out, both appeared as blank for. They said to check back periodically once more members get the update. Tested out the status update. Works just fine. Pictures showed up quite fine. They even give you a thumbnail of each picture. With Facebook app, gaming developers can use it API to post status updates of our gaming habits. Post achievements that we unlocked or if our team winning in a online match. So many possibilities with this. That and Twitter.

Last F.M:

Just like Facebook, Last.fm is another down loadable app that doesn't require to much space. I didn't have an account with Last.fm but i was easily able to create one right on the program itself. After that, I was listening music of my favorite artists. You can choose from recommended artists, top rated, etc. Once you made a selection, the app begins buffering the first song. Then it starts playing. All while pictures of that artist are presented in a slide show format. Pretty neat. You can pause or skip a song. Add it to your favorites or hate it. Last.fm could really be useful if was playable in the background. Sadly it not an option. Great app but it could so much more.

Zune Marketplace:

This part of the update preview I didn't spend much time with. It was another app I had to download onto the hard drive. Again only required a little space on the HD. Afterwards, i was browsing the catalogs. You have movies, tv shows, trailers and music videos. First movie I tried was Fast and Furious. Yes lame i know. I felt bad but it the only movie i though be good enough to test out both audio and visual. Once you pay, you have the option to stream or down. If you choose download, make sure you have you don't plan on getting online anytime soon. So best option is to stream IMO. Once clicked, the movie will buffer alittle and you are ready to watch. Depending on your connection, you should be enjoying full 1080p HD video. Video will start out looking a little artifact but that will go away. You can fast forward and rewind like normal videos. What not to love? Zune Marketplace got potential. Release movies on the marketplace the same time it comes out on DVD/Bluray and you'll be golden. One slight disappointment is that older movies should be priced lower then newer movies. Zune Marketplace is a winner!

Overall:

Some apps could of benefited of having them run in the background. Especially Last.fm and Twitter. What were the programmers thinking? They had plenty of time to think up something. But no each app is a standalone app. Once loaded, it all you can do until you sign off. Pretty disappointing in my book. I do like to see game developers use the Facebook API. Uncharted 2 on the PS3 could tweet your status right from the game. Who knows what developers can do with it.

After 10 years of driving, i finally got pulled over for speeding. 11 miles over the speed limit. Ok let me set the scene here. I was driving home around 2am Saturday morning. I was entering a 40mph speed zone. I look down and notice i was going about 45. I said meh they'll most likely ignore that. Continuing on my merry way at about the same speed limit. One of the cars I noticed in the opposite lane was a cop. Glance up in my rear view mirrir and he turning around. Thought nothing of it. Still driving about the same speed. Glance up again, "wow he catching up to me quickly....fuck he gonna pull me over! Why WHY!! God damn it I probably have a headlight or tail light out. Fuck! fuck fuck fuck!" All while that being said in my brain, the lights start to flash. "NOOO! My streak comes to end!"

So I'm pulled over now. Waiting for him to walk up to the driver side window. Seconds go by. Boy he taking a long time to get to me. *Knock Knock" Oh he at the passenger side window. He introduced himself and continues to tell me that I was going 51 in a 40 zone! 51?! Holy shit! I knew i was going 45 but damn where did the extra 6 miles come from? Stupid foot couldn't keep the fucking pedal under 50. Was I going to get a ticket? Fuck no! Clean driving record bitches. Standard routine, he ask for drivers license yadda yadda. Goes back to his vehicle. Comes back 2 minutes later and gives me my warning. Phew! Glad that over with.

What really sucks is that if we passed each other 5 seconds later, i would have been in a 45mph zone. He would of probably let it slide and keep on going. The next day, I saw a 45 mile per hour sign where i was pulled over. Son of a bitch! 5 more seconds and my streak could still be alive!!!

Let take a trip down memory lane shall we. Years ago i get a parking ticket for parking NEAR a fire hydrant. By near i say 10-15 feet from my bumper to the hydrant. Come on! If there was a fire near by then firefighters could easily get a hose hooked up the fire hydrant. My car was not in the way at all. No someone probably called and bitched or some prankster that thought it be funny. Or my luck a cop car happen to drive down that side street. Ticket wasn't expensive. Like $75. Past summer, do i see cars actually park in front of it? YES! Do I report? NO! Should I have? YES!

Bring Back Dunkaroos

Anyone remember this snack food? Omg these are the best! Kangaroo shaped cookie that you can dip in vanilla or chocolate frosting. It heaven in my mouth. I would dunk the entire cookie into the frosting. Try to get as much frosting onto the cookie as possible. Sometimes I would make a Dunkaroo oreo. Which consist of 2 cookies with frosting in the middle. You know the frosting doesn't go to waste. After your done with the cookies. You scoop the frosting out with your finger and lick it off.

The reward for the best blu-ray is...

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. Yeah I know "it a Michael Bay film and he a shitty director blah blah blah" But he knows how to make a great blu-ray DVD. Transformer 2 has the most perfect picture and audio compared to the blu-rays I already have. Minor points off for the picture not filling the screen. Walmart sells that version but it copies The Dark Knight where it only some shots were taken with the IMAX camera. Still awesome picture quality. Did not see any grain at all. No artifacts or edge enhancements. Nothing! I didn't think the picture was too bright or too dark. Nothing was distracting at all. My eyes were raped.

Audio is where it shines. Love love love the surround sound in this movie. Even the studio logos in the beginning are reference material. How the stars in the paramount logo rotate around. The sounds follow right along on the back speakers. It is sweet to hear. The best scenes to show off your surround sound would probably be the beginning battle or the forest scene where Optimus fights 3 decepticons.

If your looking for a story, this is not the movie for you. Besides this blog post is not about the story in Transformer 2. Merely stating that if you want a blu-ray to show off your home entertainment system, than this is the one. You may remember that a few weeks ago, I complained that studios don't put a lot of effort into making their movies look and sound good. If you need a quick refresh click here. Those same studios should buy this film and learn what a blu-ray should be. Transformers 2 is what blu-ray is made for. Not for studios to resell their old movies on blu-ray to milk it for all it worth. A disgrace to blu-ray IMO.

P.S AVS forums are saying about the IMAX version is that some people notice the volume was a bit low compared to the other version. Can be quickly solved by bumping up the volume.

Google Wave Preview Review

Last night, I was greeted in my gmail inbox that I have a invite to Google newest project, Google Wave. Immediately clicked the link and was transported to the magical land that is Google Wave. I should note that it was 5 in the morning and nobody was on at the time. So I set up my profile and read the "Welcome to Google Wave" wave. The wave included some videos to watch like how to start a wave, replying to a wave, replaying the wave etc. After that, i install some extensions like Accuweather and Conference. You can also adds bots like

Bit.ly - shortens URLS
Flippy - reversed any text that type in.
Bloggy - Post waves in your blogger
Nokar - It can change your text to pirate speak, look up tweets and more

Note: These are the bots I have. There plenty more here .

After about a few hours on the wave, I have to say it not bad. Even though it in preview, still needs some work. For instance, it gets quite laggy when multiple people are typing at once or when someone adds a picture. *cough* me *cough*. Our Official AGE wave had over 200 replies. That when it started to get bogged down with lag. Once I added a picture for fun, my firefox browser decide to slow way down. It was eating up a lot of CPU. Luckily starting a new wave solved the problem. Quickly trashed the Official AGE wave. Another nit pick is scrolling thru a wave takes a bit of time. It not smooth as compared to scrolling down a website. On wave it tends to lag behind a bit. When clicking the playback button, the wave doesn't start playing. You have to manually click on the next frame button to advance the history of the wave. I hate that! I want it to play it normally like watching a video. Can't add groups of people to a wave. Have to add each person separately.

Right now I can see wave be helpful with light communication. Once many people join in on the conversation, it will lag depending on your computer.

I have to drive an extra 15 minutes to work now because the bridge I have to cross to get to work is now closed. Why is it closed you asked? The bridge inspector has discovered few weeks ago that part of the bridge is deteriorating. If left unfixed, it would turn out really bad. It was still drivable but no cars over 6000 pounds was allowed on the bridge. Good for me since my car is under the limit. Did they really stop cars to see if they were over the weight limit? No.

Today is the time to shut down the bridge and repair it. Well the shut down part. Can't repair it because it raining. So for the next 2 months, maybe longer or shorter depending on the weather, I will have to take the long way around town to get to work. Which is an extra 15 minutes (20 minutes if there a lot of red lights). I just don't get why they didn't find it in the first place when they were repairing the concrete pillars couple of years ago.

I don't mind the drive home because it actually quite peaceful. The drive to work just seems longer then the drive home. 2 months better fly by.

Why can't movie studios get surround sound right?

When I watch the most recent blu-ray movies that just been released, most of them seem to just lack in sound. Especially compared to video games. Video game developers get it right all the time. What I look for when watching surround sound is that every speaker to be used throughout the entire movie. I don't care what the director vision is. Make us feel like we are in the movies. Instead they just put out movies with sub par audio.

Before I move on, I should let you know that my receiver is a Denon AVR 1909. I been generally happy with it so far. All connections are HDMI. Picture below represents what my speaker set up looks like.

Ok recently I watch Quantum of Solace on blu-ray. During the movie at the back of my mind, i kept saying that the surround sound could be a lot better Sometimes I thought my speakers weren't working correctly. I even bumped up the volume on each individual rear speakers. Still seem like audio was lacking in the rears. 2 front and center speakers get plenty of sound. Bass be shaking like usual. Just the rear speakers that seem to get less attention

Same can't be said for video games. Ever since I upgraded my home theater last year, I been enjoying video games a lot more because their use of surround sound. Every game i played, surround sound has been wonderful. You move the screen around and the sound follows along seamlessly. I can hear sound coming from all directions. It helps how i play the game. For example, Left 4 Dead, you can tell which direction the zombies are coming from or where the special infection are at. For video games, surround sound really helps. I'm glad I upgraded my home theater.

Overall, i wish movie companies spend more dollars on their audio. Or maybe my ears just plain suck. Haha Be on the lookout for a future rant on picture quality and why i might just stick to buying animated/CGI movies.

5 Guys Experience

Couple of weeks ago, 5 guys had their grand opening on my town. I heard some rave reviews about their burgers. Last night, friend of mine at work said he ate the best burger he had in a long time from 5 Guys. That push me more to trying them out. Today during halftime of the Ravens/Patriots game, I head over there. Order myself a bacon burger with pickles, onions, ketchup, and mustard with fries and drink. Sat down for 5 minutes waiting for my order to be done. Listening to Sweet Child of Mind being played on the radio. Watching the guy cooking the fries. He put about 3 scoops of fries into my bag plus a medium size cup of fries into the bag. I'm like "damn I am in for a treat." My orders done and off I go.

Got home before 2nd half started. Took my first bite, eyes widen. I knew right then, this tasted fucking good. They were not kidding, it truly a great burger. Up until now I though Burger King had a great burger. Shit 5 Guys trumps BK to the ground. I took it slow. I wanted to enjoy this burger for awhile. The fries were alright. Tasted like they were sitting out for too long. Weren't very hot at all. Will that stop me from visiting 5 Guys again? FUCK NO! I'm going back this week.

Halo: ODST Review

From Halo: Combat Evolved to the recent Halo: ODST. I played them all. I gotta say that ODST may be the best of the bunch.

Story:
Your a rookie Orbital Shock Drop Trooper. You were launched into battle but on the way down, your pod got knocked off course and landed somewhere in New Mombasa, Africa. Now you must find clues on what happen to your teammates after the drop. Once you come across those clues, you flashback to see what happen in that area and your crew. Taking the role of your teammates as they battle the covenant. Bungie added something extra. A story within the story you could say. During your search for clues you come across audio files of a women story when the covenant attacked Mombasa. This part I have not finished yet. So I cannot say what the story is about exactly.

I must say that Bungie did a excellent job on telling the story through the eyes of your team and what they went through to stay alive. You do play the rookie but he mostly travels the streets of Mombasa searching for clues. Fighting various enemies scattered along the way. Those parts of the game did seem a bit boring at times.

Gameplay:
Nothing much as changed since Halo 3 game play wise. There are a couple of changes that Bungie decided on. This time around, you cannot dual wield weapons. You do not have a shield. So your health does not regenerate like Master Chief. Your rookie does have stamina that recovers over time. I should mention that there isn't a stamina bar per say. When your vision turns red is when your stamina is weak. Keep taking hits and your health bar will start to go down. This leads to more intensive fights with the covenant. No more run and gun like previous Halo games. During the campaign, I did notice there was a lot of health packs stations on the streets. Since I played the game on normal difficulty. I didn't need those health packs too much. One thing that Master Chief should of had is the visors that ODST have. When activated by the X button, your visor acts as night vision goggles. Highlighting the surround areas. Enemies will highlight in red while your teammates are highlighted in green. These work best at night obviously. Use them during the day and you won't see at all. A nice touch in my opinion.

Newest addition to Halo franchise is firefight. You and 3 other of your friends take on wave after wave of covenant enemies just like Gears of War 2 but a little better depending how you look at it. In ODST, there are vehicles you can use in certain maps. No shields to help protect you. Your shares lives. You start out with 5. So if those 5 lives are gone then your out until the next round. You do accumulate lives over time. One thing I though would be a nice touch for firefight would be to have the flood. Even though you don't see them in the campaign, Bungie should have put them in firefight to make it more interesting. What makes firefight interesting is the skulls that are activated during each round. The higher the level, the more skulls that are activated. It certainly adds to the difficulty. Legendary + skulls = a world of hurt.

Multiplayer in ODST is the same multiplayer from Halo 3, just on a separate disc. Only difference is the new maps but you can still play people who are using their Halo 3 disc. If you haven't played Halo 3 multiplayer before then it something to experience once in your life. You can create almost any type of game. Halo style dodge ball, motocross with rockets, last man standing, infection. So many possibilities. Forge helps you place objects, weapons or vehicles anywhere on any map. My personal favorite is theater. Where you can watch recent videos of your campaign, firefight or multiplayer. Only drawback to theater is when you watch video of the campaign or firefight, you can not rewind nor cut out highlights of the video. That only available in MP videos. Wish Bungie would fix that. If you love stats then Bungie got you cover. Check out their website and see your stats for each game. They tell you how many metals you got, number of kills for each weapon. Who you killed the most or who killed you the most times in a game. I can on and on about the stats but you get the idea. It pretty impressive.

Graphics:
Have you played Halo 3? Yes? Ok then that what ODST looks like graphic wise. No? Rent Halo 3 to see the graphics yourself. There not as good as Batman: AA or GOW2 but it gets the job done fairly well. There some good looking level designs here and there. Once that sinks in, you'll notice that the level design repeats a lot in certain levels. One for instant is the data hive. Previous games suffer from this to.

Audio:
Probably Bungie greatest strengths in the Halo series is finding the right voices for their characters. Bungie certainly did a superb job on the casting Nathan Fillon as Buck. One of the main characters you get to play during the campaign. Nathan Fillion has worked with Bungie before. He did voices for Halo 3 as one of the Sergeants. Rounding out the cast, Tricia Helfer from Battlestar Galactica, does the voice of Dare. Alan Tudyk also a Firefly alum plays Mickey. Sadly your rookie doesn't have any dialog. Any character that talks to the rookie is better off talking to a wall. Hell the grunts have better dialog then the rookie character. And of course the music is a big part of Halo. Bungie once again hits the nail on the head when it comes to music.

Replayability:
Anyone that a fan of multiplayer will certain enjoy it for many years to come. After one week of the game release, firefight is still popular among my friends list. It a refreshing take on horde mode from GOW2. I can see myself playing this months down the road. As for the campaign itself, you can go back and play the story again with 3 of your friends. Ramp up the difficulty to legendary and go at it.

Overall:
I enjoyed the story very much but it could have been longer. The entire campaign probably took me 7 - 9 hours on normal difficulty. I felt the rookie could of been used better used instead of some silent guy that walks around finding clues. He does grunt and moan when he hurt but it doesn't count. Least Master Chief had some speaking parts. So why can't this guy! I like the use of the security cameras during cut scenes that where watching our main characters. Love firefight. I may jump in a few MP games sometime soon. I certainly like to play the story again with some buddies.

Forza 3 Demo Impressions

Just played Forza 3 demo. After hating the first Forza game and skipping Forza 2, I may be liking Forza 3. Only because they make it where anyone can play now. I'm more of a arcade racer like Project Gotham series. With Forza 3, they included auto brake feature and rewind button. I'll confess, i used the auto brake feature. And I do like it. Yes insult me because i do like the auto brake feature. Did I use the rewind feature like the pussy i am? Answer is YES! Now give me some credit. I did turn off the auto brake and bump the difficulty to medium (your still a pussy Bobby.... SHUT UP VOICES IN MY HEAD!) on a few races and did surprisingly well. Came in first with the Mitsubishi car. The Porsche, i came in 3rd. and i think it was the mini cooper that i came in 2nd. All the races i used auto brake, i always came in first. *shrugs*

What the demo comes with is 5 cars and 1 track. As far as what I saw, there are no other modes to choose from. Wish they added some other modes in the demo like drifting or drag racing. Graphics looks good. Audio was good. Before the race, if you change your mind on the assist, you can do that. The game gives you a menu that lets you start the race, see the starting grid, change the assists, audio and hud or quit the race.

Overall I was generally pleased with the demo. It just need more modes and 1 more track. Preferably a tougher track. The track in the demo was a bit easy and short. That it for impressions. Comment if im right or wrong or if im a giant pussy. =P

P.S If anyone getting the Limited Edition, can i please have the Aston Martin DB9 car? I would love to have it. I'll be your BFF. :)

Bike Week Rant Plus Video!!

Came across this video on Break.com. This clip show a biker whipping out. What I noticed is the building across the street. I recognized this building somewhere... Then it hit me!! This was shot during Bike Week in OC, Maryland. That building is the post office down the street from where I work. Cool a video on Liveleak that was shot from my town and it funny! Just shows that some of these bikers don't know how to ride. I laugh every time I read some of these stories of biker dieing because they simply suck at riding their motocycles. Not sure what more funny, this whip out or the douche that died riding his trike motorcycle no less last friday night (Sept 18) because he wasn't paying attention and slammed into the back of another biker who was slowing down for traffic up ahead.

Plus what also irks me is that some bring their bikes down in a trailer. Bitch you spent all that money on that bike and you don't have the balls to ride it down here? Please go back home! Don't be a show off. Oooo look at me and my expensive motorcycle that I rarely drive. It was a nice weekend. It did not rain. Take the bike out and ride it! That what bikes are made for. Not to sit inside a trailer and be shown once in a while. Be a real biker and drive it long distances.

Wet Review

Seems like most games I play lately all have male lead characters. It was refreshing to play a sword swinging, dual wielding, whiskey drinking female character. Some folks might like the visual style that Bethesda and Artificial Mind and Movement have come up with. What you get is a video game that looks like a 70s style movie. You think this game was directed by Quentin Tarantino himself. If this game ever gets picked up to be a real movie than he the only guy that can make this film.

Story:
Rubi Malone is a gun for hire or a "Fixer" from Texas. One year earlier, she was hired by a man Trevor Ackers to get the heart for William Ackers - his dad, who needs the heart for his transplant. It was taken by a small criminal named Richard Simmons. Haha no that Richard Simmons (although it be a great pleasure to shoot that guy). She tracks him down and after many gunfights, the heart is return to Mr. Ackers. A year later, William Ackers hires our protagonist for a job. This deal goes south...

Gameplay:
If you played the demo then you get the jist of what the gameplay is. Killing baddies while doing some stylish acrobatics all while in slo-mo. Don't be fooled, Rubi also deadly with her sword. Wet is a great mixture of acrobatic stunts, dual wielding, QTE (yes there are some quick time events throughout the game) and swordplay. What the demo doesn't tell you is there are upgrades to her weapons and abilities. You earn style points during your single player campaign. Style points are accumulated by doing those acrobatic kills you have learned. The more stylish the kill, the more points you get. There are hidden points as well. So keep your eyes peeled. After each arenas or at the end of each chapter (total of 12 chapters according to the achievements), you can goto the upgrade shop by pressing the Y button..

It took a bit of time to learn the controls. I've killed myself many times jumping over ledges instead of just hanging on the ledge. There were times when I think Rubi could of grab hold of the ledge but sadly she would fall to her death. It was kinda frustrating performing a acrobatic stunt, only to have slide or jumped over a building by accident leading to my death. This game provides a solution to finding that Rubi can use to her advantage. Holding the left trigger activates Rubi Vision. It highlights ledges, poles, ladders that you can use to your advantage. Another innovation was split targeting. If there more than one enemy in the area, Rubi automatically targets one, while you try to aim at the other. I like it. Took awhile to get use to it with all the jumping, running and sliding going on.

Rubi weapons come in a few varieties. You start off with her pistol and a sword. What great about the pistols is that they have unlimited ammo. No need to worry about finding ammo packs or reloading them for that matter. Once you get the shot guns, SMGs, or crossbows they don't have unlimited ammo. Don't worry, you'll still have your pistols if you run out of ammo. Rubi is not bullet proof. So she will take damage. She can regenerate health by drinking whisky you find throughout the chapters. In the areans, she regains health faster the higher her multipler is.

I do have two major complaint about this game and it the challenges you have to complete a few times at Rubi's home. Home being the boneyard. These challenges consist of running through these red rings. Also rings on fire. These rings on fire activate these hubcap targets. Rubi split targeting targets that, while you aim and shoot the other targets that pop up. This is suppose to help in using the split targeting while doing your acrobatics. You have to complete this challenge before time runs out. When you destroy the targets, each target takes 2 seconds off your clock. Another challenge was destroying 90 targets in 3 mins. That was the easiest and the most enjoyable challenge. Still I did not like it because you cannot advance until you complete them. I thought it ruined the flow of the game. Plus you don't get any style points. Come on! Give me something! Ok they do unlock new guns for you to use. Big yippe.... I rather unlock them through the upgrade shop. Second complaint I have was the lame boss fight at the end. Mostly involves quick time events. The fight was over before I knew it.

Graphics:
Wet is a heavy visualize game. Throughout the game including the main menu, it has a film scratch effect. This what makes Wet look more like a 70s movie. Certain parts of the campaign when Rubi face gets splattered by blood, the visuals goes all red, white, and black. Red mostly. Once this happens, look out bad guys. Rubi angry and it shows. When she kills her foes with her guns or sword, her enemies turn into black smoke that slowly dissipates. Really cool to see for yourself. If you are not a fan of this film scratch, you can turn it off in the options menu. I on the other hand will leave it on because I like it. Otherwise graphics are sort of meh. If you played Stranglehold, that what the graphic is like in Wet. Characters models are ok. Not the best in the world.

Audio:
Wet has one of the better soundtracks for a video game. 70s style music by various artist that blends well with the game play. You can unlock songs when you play through the campaign. Listen to them in their entirety in the extras section. Yes the entire soundtrack on the same disc as the game. Nice move on Bethesda and A2M on including the soundtrack for us to enjoy. There probably 20 tracks to listen to. I've hear some of the song and their not bad. Eliza Dushku and Malcolm McDowell provide their voices for Rubi and Mr. William Ackers. Their performance are outstanding. Fits theirs characters well. Same goes to the actors that voice other characters.

Longevity:
After you get done with the single player portion of the game, You unlock the challenge mode and harder difficulty settings. With that plus the bios of each character, concept art and the soundtrack. There really nothing else to keep you occupied. There are monkeys you can go back to collect for those who are achievement whores. 5 levels of difficulty. One called "Golden Bullet". A one hit one kill type game play with limited health. Only drawback is you have to unlock it first.

Overall:
Good for a weekend rental. If you like this sort of visual style and game play then you will have a great experience. Total of 12 chapters, challenge mode (after you finish campaign), soundtrack included, it should keep you entertained for a couple of days. Again, did not like the challenges that I had to do 3 time in the game for no reason. Last boss fight was a let down. Small learning curve with the controls. Some areas may require trial and error.

Batman: Arkham Asylum Review

After days of beating up many henchmen, solving riddles, finding trophies and stopping the Joker and his pals. I have finished Batman: Arkham Asylum. All I can say is wow. Best single player game since I played Dead Space. Dead Space was fucking awesome btw. Batman: AA is right up there in terms of single player. Sadly there not multiplayer but you don't need multiplayer. What you do get is a great single player game and challenge mode. Let get down to it.

Story:
Batman: AA is about the bat catching the Joker and taking him to Arkham. Only to have a suspicion that something gonna happen and it does. Joker breaks free and takes over the asylum. Now you must stop him. First you have to fight his minions and villains like Harley Quinn, Croc, Poison Ivy, Bane and Scarecrow. I don't wanna spoil much but Scarecrow is most undoubtedly the best villain in this game. If you wanna know why play this game now! The Riddler is in this game to but he mostly behind the scenes. Instead of fighting him, you have to find his trophies and solve his riddles all while he taunts you thru bats communicator. You also have to solve the biggest mystery, the Chronicles of Arhkam. To make it more fun to find things, there is also patient interviews and chatting teeth. These are interviews of the main villains in the game when they first came to Arkham. Worth while to listen to. Chatting teeth are scattered about the island Believe me, finding these items it more fun than a chore.

Graphics:
Batman: Arkham Asylum uses Epic's Unreal Technology to power this game. It looks stellar. Has a very gritty and dark tone. I love it. Fits this game very very well. Character models look good. Some do look a little like plastic figurines. Only minor gripes I have is it needs more various henchmen. It seemed that Rocksteady only used 3 models for Joker's henchmen. More visual damage to the batsuit. I notice towards the end, that batman had a scare on his face and his cape was ripped. Batman went through a lot and his batsuit should of shown that with more tears in it. Like I mentioned, only minor gripes.

Gameplay:

Using the freeflow combat takes awhile getting use to. For the tougher battles, using the counter button is necessary. You can probably get away with mashing the X button to fight but if you playing on hard mode, it very important to learn to use the counter button and using your upgrades. When you upgrade your combat and string together enough combos, certain options appear like a super takedown, tossing a hechmen or using your batarang without breaking up your combo.

Controlling the bat is not difficult to learn. Just like the combat, his movements are also fluid. If your running towards a huge hole in the ground, batman will automatically jump over and continue running. So there is no need for a jump buttom.

Besides single player campaign, there also challenge modes. In these challenges, you fight some henchmen in each round or for predator mode, you take down each henchmen with a silent takedown all while not getting caught. Think Splinter Cell but replace Sam Fisher with Batman.

Audio:
The voice talent in this game is spot on. Mark Hamill voicing the Joker certainly was a shock. Still he did a fantastic job. Same goes for the other actors and actresses doing voice over. Compelling dialog with talented voice actors made this game very enjoyable. There was some repeated dialog but not much. When roaming outside, you'll hear the Joker over the PA insulting the bat. There funny at first but tends to get annoying after awhile.

Longevity:
Length wise, I'd say maybe 12 hours (on normal difficulty) if you take your time and explore. If you blast through it without finding all the hidden items then it will be much much shorter. After beating the game, you can free roam the joint to find all the hidden items and chatting teeth without worrying about anyone getting in your way. That with challenge modes, it adds to the longevity of the game. I hear the challenge modes on extreme are a bitch to complete. There is downloadable content on the way and it FREE! Free is certainly good.

Overall:
To sum it up, you won't be disappointed. I found the game to be engaging. At work, I find myself wanting to go home and play more. Even after beating the game, I went back to discover all the trophies and patient interviews. Now I'm working on the challenge modes. I just love fighting the henchmen and doing silent takedowns. Very satisfying hanging a henchmen upside down from a gargoyle statue.

Wet Quick Review

Just played through 3 chapters of Wet and just like the demo it still a action pack shoot'em up visualized game. With a sexy female character to boot. If you love the demo then the retail version in my opinion is much better. What the demo doesn't tell you is as you progress through the game, you earn points to upgrade your weapons or abilities after each chapter.

In the retail version, the game starts off just like the demo. You go through a small tutorial on jumping/sliding/wall running all while gunning down your foes. As I progress in that chapter, you learn more acrobatic abilities. One I had trouble with was that you cannot wall run on every single wall. There was a few areas that I had to quickly learn to use Rubi vision. Also I died a few times thinking ok i can jump there no problem. I jump and oh so close but miss it. If that the case then use your Rubi vision to see what you can use to get across.

If there any gripes I have it chapter 3. Chapter 3 is all about completing 3 challenges. What you do is, run through the course going through loops. Certain loops activates a target. Shooting the target activates 2 other target you need to shoot to slow down your time. Last challenge is using the turret to shoot 90 targets in 3 mins. I felt that this ruined the flow of the game. You cannot advance unless you complete these 3 challanges within the time limit. Last challenge was the most fun of the 3. I been more happy if they just put them in the challenge mode portion of the game. Only purpose it has is learning the controls and aiming your guns. Nice little bonus for completing chapter 3 is unlocking the dual shotguns. Downside is during the challenge, notice there was no unlimited ammo for the shotguns. If that the case then only the pistols have unlimited ammo.

Yes there is a challenge mode. It the developers way of saying sorry there no multiplayer, here some challenges for you to complete. No I have not tried it yet. If it anything like chapter 3 then i may hold off doing them until I complete the game. For those who does not like the film scratch, you can turn it off! So if your on the fence, rent the game. Now you know you can turn off the film scratch if it bothers you.

Between now and till the end of this year, I will be buying about 6 games. That could change but for now it 6 games. What are those 6 fabulous games? Well let me tell you. The list of games in release date order are as follows....

Wet
Halo: ODST
Borderlands
Forza Motorsports 3
Left 4 Dead 2
Modern Warfare 2

Wet is a stylized game that plays similar to Stranglehold. Looks like a game straight from Quentin Tarantino himself. Wet looks and play out like a movie which is fine for me. To me that says "Hey I'm different play me now!" Which I did with the demo I got off the Xbox Live Marketplace. I must of played it 4 times already.

Halo: ODST is the 4th halo game from Bungie. We take the roll of a trooper that is dropped in on Mombasa. ODST takes on a different approach than the traditional run and gun. This time around, we have to plan out a strategy because our health is more fragile. We can't duel wield. A little sadden about that but it will work out. On the plus side, we get firefight. 5 peeps against waves of enemies. And there ever popular multiplayer. It gonna rock.

Borderlands is a 4 player co-op FPS/RPG type game.That all I know really. It looks good. I'm a big fan of co-op type games. And their looting! Who wouldn't love to loot? Their dueling. To activate a duel, you pimp slap your friend, who has to pimp slap you back (by slap i mean melee hit). A dome is created around you. The fight begins. Whoever gets knocked down wins. You don't die but now your health is really low. Plus their vehicle combat. So far this is the only competitive type game mode within the game. Graphics in this game are exactly like Crackdown. Cell shaded/comic book type graphics.

Forza Motorsports 3 is my most recent pre-order. Saw video that tempted me into buying. What convince me to buy? Well when i played the first Forza on the original xbox, I was put off by the tuning and upgrading to cars. I don't know jack shit about tuning cars. I was confused by all the fine details. Jumping to Forza 2 which I did not bother buying. Jumping to Forza 3, they changed all that. You can simply tell the computer to upgrade the car for you. SWELL IDEA! I need this option. Plus you can buy tuning upgrades from other players. How awesome does that sound? Over 400 cars including my personal favorite from Top Gear...the Bugatti Veyron. Hell yes! When hearing that this beast of a car was in this game, it peaked my interesting into getting Forza 3. Also my favorite from Top Gear is the Aston Martin DB9. This car is sexy looking and fast. Looking forward to owning both these cars and possibly many others. The only thing keeping me from liking Forza 3 is the driving. I more of a arcade racer. For example Project Gotham Racing series. I love going around corners at full speed. In Forza 3 the breaks will have to be used at almost every corner. Forza 3 has automatic braking which sounds appealing but i may have to suffer some insults if I decide to use it. Plenty of multiplayer options to keep this game fresh for many months.

Left 4 Dead 2 the sequel to the popular Left 4 Dead. 4 new characters, 4 new awesome campaigns with new badass infections and weapons. Weapons like a katana. SLICE SLICE! Frying pan, baseball bat, a mutha fuckin chainsaw, machete, new machine guns, shottys and pistols. I believe there could be a flame thrower. New infected like the Spitter and the Jockey. Spitter is a female infected that spits acid. Must be related to the boomer. Once the acid hits you, your down for the count. The Jockey ability is jumping on your back and controlling your character basically until he gets shot off. Sounds like a fun infected to play on multiplayer. A.I director 2.0 got some tricks up it sleeves. For example, changing the paths the survivors can take. You might take one path but it could be different next time thru. It was somewhat dissapointing that the first game didn't get a lot of DLC. All we got was The Last Stand game mode. Soon a new campaign DLC but it really really short. Valve could of done so much with L4D but no they didn't. Don't get me wrong, I'm still buying this game.

Modern Warfare 2 the badass sequel to a equally badass COD: Modern Warfare. Single player on COD:MW just about blew my mind. Infinity Ward really puts you in the shoes of a soldier fighting in a war. From being a soldier on the battelfield to being a gunner on a AC130 plane to being a sniper picking off a single target. It was just pure goodness. To me, it was the most realistic shooter i ever played and now their a sequel. I cannot wait to play and see what Infinity Ward has brought to the table in terms of single player. I to enjoy the multiplayer side of Modern Warfare. The perks made it more interesting. Trying to complete challenges during matches, getting huge points on your kill streaks or watching your helicopter or fighter jets take out multiple enemies. Now MW2 has included the AC130 plane to MP. I'll be wetting my pants everytime i see that plane in the air. Killcams will be making a return. Gotta love watching that grenade fly over mile and land right next to your feet. Good times.

I really don't know what game is gonna take up most of my time. Shoot I don't even know if I have the time this winter to play them all. Including the games I bought recently like Prototype, Red Faction, Batman: Arkham Asylum (review coming soon) and Fallout 3. All I know is that it gonna be a busy winter playing all these game. Fuck yeah...

Summer in a nutshell

What can I say about the summer of 2009? It was pretty much the same as 2008. With some slight differences. One difference being that the temperatures were cooler than last year. We only had a handful of days with 90+ degrees. The rest of the days mostly been 70 to 80 degree weather with very little rain.....till NOW! Now it September and the fucking rain shows up. Seems it will continue to rain throughout the week. Oh goody!!! /sarcasm

Ok back to the summer of 2009. Since Memoral Day, it been a tourist cluster fuck of a summer. On twitter, I've been complaining about tourists a few times. They are annoying bunch of dickweeds Tons of places to go in this world and they all seem to gather in my town. So we have a beach... big f-ing woop de doo! Beaches get boring. Sand gets to places you never knew existed. You can't surf in the water because some douchbag kid gets in your way. The good spots are taken, so your stuck towards the back of the beach where you have to walk about a length of a football field (exaggerating a bit) to get to the water. So this year, I said screw it to the beach. I'll just use my mom's above ground pool with a vollyball net. Nothing spells fun like playing vollyball in the pool. :)

Going to work is exciting...kinda. Obviously I always get stuck being the slow drivers. By slow i mean 10 miles below the speed limit. Can't pass because it a 2 lane highway & 99% of the time there always a car coming the other way. So I'm stuck behind this slow mutha fucker! Coming home from work, i get the guy who HAS HIS BRIGHTS ON ALL THE TIME! I'm constantly dodging the bright lights reflecting off the rear view mirror and side mirrors. During this time, I hatched a plan where i put a huge spotlight on the back of my car. Next time i get bright lights from behind...WHAMOO! BRIGHT LIGHTS IN YOUR FACE BITCH! Twice this summer, 2 people flash their high beams indicating there a speed trap down the road. Only to find out there is no cop with a radar gun. WONDERFUL! I slow down for no damn reason.

Parking at work has gotten a little better than last year. Simply because I'm parking in a customers spot if the employee lot is filled. Hey customers are stealing our employee spots. So I'm just returning the favor. Your welcome. We even get people that park and go fishing off the bay nearby. That annoys me! First of all why this area?! All the places to fish but no you park in our employee spots to go fishing. I should be allow to smash your car with a sledge hammer!

What is the same summer after summer is the annoying drunks. Who loves to argue about their expensive tabs. Dude you came to a night club. Of course it gonna be expensive. Annoying drunk chicks tend gravitate towards the band or DJ. "Can you play my shitty song that i heard 1000s times before?!" "Excuse me, can you play a song we can dance to?" What kind of request is that? Seriously?! You can dance to any song. But what you really mean is that can you play any of the top 40 hits instead of the classics songs. No DJ is gonna play Pitbull or Flo Rida at 8pm with young children in the building. So shut up with your stupid requests. Don't get bitchy when we don't play your song after your 5th time asking for it. The more you ask, the less likely the song will be played.

Speaking of bands, i saw some good tribute bands like Beatlemania Again, Still Surfing - a Beach Boys tribute band. 2U - U2 tribute band. Transfuzion, great local band that plays mostly classic rock. Let see here, I also saw some pretty crummy low budget fireworks. The finale I swear to god only lasted about 8 secs. Fireworks finale should last like a min or 2 with lots of BOOMS!

With labor day done, summer not quite over yet. Bike week coming up next week and Sunfest early October. Sunfest is 4 huge tents with lots of people selling their arts and crafts. Huge tourist attracting. Especially old folks. They go for that shit. Plus their food and semi ok entertainment. Believe me, I will be avoiding the arts and crafts. Pretty sure I'm missing something from this summer. Must not be important. To that, i will end this rant of summer of 2009.

It been more than a year since I last blogged. A lot of stuff has happen since I last blogged. I guess I quit blogging because there wasn't much to talk about then. And no one really read it. I'll give it a shot this time around since i fell in love with Twitter. Twitter is my new best friend. Twitter will promote my blog and make me a star! Muhahaha. Ok maybe not. Wishful thinking.

Over the summer I been working 6 days a week. That been affecting my gaming/cheevo whoring. So now that labor day has past, I can get back to some gaming. I'll save some things for future blogs like upcoming games I am purchasing and games i have played recently. What I received in the mail today. Movies I saw over the summer. Shows I been catching up on and new shows I like. Plus various subjects I'm gonna be blogging in the future. Then once I get that out of my system, I'll probably take another year off.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Amazon.com had the entire series on sale for $100. Down from $160. I thought it was a good deal. So I snatched it up real quick. I was a Buffy fan since FX start airing them on syndication. The writing on this show is fantastic. For a Sci-Fi horror show, it does inject some humor into it with witty dialog. During the strike and currently today, I'm still watching episodes of Buffy. Plus Joss Whedon a god.

Futurama - Again Amazon.com had a bogo sale on Futurama. So I got all 4 volume for about $30 if memory serves me right. An animated show about a delivery crew going on wacky adventures. Sadly short lived when fox canceled them but good news is the Comedy Central is bringing them back.

Dexter - Dexter is the first show that I feel in loved with during the strike. Dexter Morgan a blood analyst for the Miami Police Department is also a serial killer but a different kind of killer. He kills other serial killers. For more info, look for a blog post about Dexter.

Burn Notice - A USA Network about a ex spy Michael Weston getting a burn notice (a fancy term for saying your fired). While trying to find out why he got a burn notice, he helps clients who in deep trouble. Burn Notice is like a cousin to the show Macgyver. Creating things using various parts of other things. This show has Bruce Campbell. Gotta love Bruce Campbell!

Weeds - Another Showtime show about a widow mother selling pot. It mostly a comedy with a tiny bit of darkness I guess. The only thing that doesn't sit well with me about this show is that the lead character always seem to get out of trouble at the last minute by some miracle or some freaky coincidence. It definitely worth watching. Keven Nealon steals every scene.

Arrested Development - This cancel Fox show I though I never would watch but once again I'm wrong. Now I see why people love this show. It cleverly written. The Bluth Family in financial trouble. There son Michael Bluth tries to keep everyone together. The cast comes together nicely. An excellent show to watch.

Now you know what I have been watching during those 5 months. Looking forward to another writer strike, so I can discover new and interesting television shows. Thank you for reading.

Working in a night club for 5 years starting this June, I've come up with a few songs that need to be retired. These songs are what most cover bands play and songs girls get horny over for no reason. what I'm also gonna rant about is the songs girls request. I may have talked about it before but I'm gonna talk about it again!!

Ok first songs that need to retire FOREVER:

Jessie's Girl - Fuck Jessie. I hate this douchbag and so his girl!
Blister in the Sun - *vomits*
Laid - Every girl that comes to a club pretty much wants to get laid. Why need a song?
Any Bon Jovi song. - I hate Bon Jovi. He a terrible actor in the movie Vampires: Los Muertos.

Sweet Home Alabama - Brings out the redneck in all of us.

Don't Stop Believing - Aww I know but every bar and club in my town plays it and it getting old.

So that my list of songs that need to be retired. There are plenty of songs out there. Why are we sticking with these? Because tourist don't wanna hear anything new? Gimme a break. What wrong in trying something new. Hell I bet these people have these songs on CDs. Let these bands play their original songs.

Now a minor rant on requests. Stop requesting Crazy Bitch, any Britney Spears or Avril Lavign. We know your a crazy bitch. We can tell just by looking at you. Britney and Avril are just terrible singers. Britney had her moments but it now in the past. Thank for reading :)

LG EnV Review

When I was deciding to buy a new cell phone, I first decided which service. Well Verizon had a cell tower nearby. So the obvious choice is Verizon. So now was the hard task of picking a new phone. At work, I notice a few customers had the LG EnV. A DJ that works with us had this particular phone. I also wanted a phone with a keyboard. Since I do a lot of texting, I figure having a full QWERTY keyboard would be good. So I checked out Verizon website and sure enough the EnV phone is available for $150. If I waited a month, I could of gotten the LG Voyager. I basically the EnV with a touch screen like Iphone.

Now the next decision was picking a color. There was 3 colors to choose from. Silver, Orange or Green. Out of the 3, the orange really stood out to me. Silver look alittle ugly in my opinion and green was more of a dark green. Didn't look appealing to me at all. It was a easy choice for me to get orange.

So when this baby arrived, I fell in loved with this phone. The 2 screens looked fantastic. I fliped it open and there the keyboard brightly lite. I immediately started texting my friends. Taking advantage of my unlimited texting. Now let rate the phone.

Signal: 4/5 - Compared to my pay as you go phone, the signal is great when at work. At home, I loose about 2 to 3 bars. 4 bars total. But I have not had a dropped call yet.

Features: 5/5 - Keyboard, seakerphone (only when phone is flipped open), 2.0 megapixel camera, video wallpaper, 2 preloaded trial games. One is tetris. Forgot what the other game is. text to speech. Yes your text messages can be read to you. Add more memory with a SD micro cards.

Camera: 4/5 - Camera takes good pictures. It got auto focus. Takes about 5+ seconds to take a picture. Alittle long for my taste. Built in lens cover. Got it own picture button. So your taking a picture like a regular camera. You take a picture with the phone flipped open or closed.

Call Reception: 5/5 - All calls are crystal clear. They can also hear me fairly well.

Battery: 5/5 - Battery is great. I get 2 weeks of battery life. I'm guessing. It could be more. Never took the time to actually find out. After 4 months, still have a great battery life.

Overall: 4.5/5 - Great phone. I recommend it if you love to text like me. Holds about 32MB of pictures, videos or ringtones. Does have a slot for SD micro cards if you need more space. Although there is a tiny flimsy doors to the charging port and SD Micro card slot. You feel like your gonna break it off when opening them. I also recommend a screen protector for the front screen. Protect it from scratches. After 4 months with this phone, no worn out buttons. Everything works great still. Get this phone or the LG Voyager!

This weekend has it all. Drunk annoying chicks, cougars, cat fights, weirdos, surprising news, tits and ass.

Where do I start first. Hmm ok let start with the drunk annoying chicks who love to hang around the band when the night over. Tonight is a good example. When the band finish for the night, these 5 girls just had to stick around for 30 minutes after closing. Just chit chatting away with the guys about various crap no one cares about. All this does is get in the way. Girls sitting on stage while band members are trying to put their equipment on the floor. One women fawning all over the drummer and requesting a drum stick. What the hell is she gonna do wit ha drum stick? Women out their the collect drum sticks? I'm not stupid, she just being annoying bitch she is. I bet you money she will throw it away within a week. So girls, in the future just leave when the place is closing. I know you don't wanna go home but get the fuck out. Go somewhere else. I swear, I may invest in a bull horn, loud speaker or this little fella http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/warfare/8b46/ . With that little gadget, that will definitely drive the people out. Girls, we all know you wanna screw their brains out but you may wanna think about this, do they wanna screw you? Trust me when I say if you think they do, some of them really don't. Why? Well there some factors. How an annoying cunt you are or how drunk you obviously are. I hear band members talk shit when the ladies leave. It quite funny the stories i hear.

Next on the list is the many cougars the come praying on the young. Where do these women know all the hip hop songs that the guys love? My mom can't even stand that music. One requested Chris Brown, another wanting Nelly. Obvious sign of a cougar. Got some cougars trying to pull their friends shirt off to expose their friends tits. One was successful at doing it. One came up and ask the DJ to guess her age. In my mind, I was thinking in the 50s. DJ had to be nice and say oh 29...30. I'm like geez. I would of gotten slapped if i said 50s. Although i be close cause she said she was 45. Unless she shaving off a few years.

Up next is weirdos. One that topped the list is the female dressing up as a guy. Short male like hair covered with a baseball cap. Big fluffy sweater trying to hide the titties but didn't help at all. Titties were noticeable even with the sweater on. If you ever saw the 80s movie, "Just One of the Guys". That what I'm talking about. Was she a lesbian? Maybe. Saw no signs of it. She mostly just hanged with the guys. But why dress like one? Girls obviously get more perks then guys do. Come on guys are slobs. Don't be like one. Not a weirdo but it was alittle strange when one of the bartenders goatee was being shaved by a customer. I wonder if he lost a bet. I should of asked.

One piece of surprising news I got during the night was my friend Nina announcing to me that she pregnant! I thought something looked different about her. Last time I saw her, she was looking skinny then tonight she gained a few pounds. So when she said she is pregnant, that explained the weight. So I hugged her and congratulated here.

The main event was the cat fight. As I stared off into wonderland, I notice ice cubs flying everywhere. I look and see 2 girls throwing their drinks at each other. When that was done, the hair pulling began!! Right after 2 other girls joined the fight. Bouncers rushed in and quickly stopped it. One girl was still fired up and try to pull away from the bouncer. When things calmed down, one of the suspects in the fight came back and spoke with the DJ. She wanted him to talk to the bouncers to see if she can stay. So he did but I don't think it helped since she left soon after. She was very upset about it. All the hugging in the world could not help that poor girl.

Deal Has Been Reached to End Writers' Strike: Eisner

A deal has been struck between the major media companies and the Writers Guild of America to end the writers' strike, former Walt Disney chief executive Michael Eisner revealed on CNBC.

"It's over," Eisner said. "They made the deal, they shook hands on the deal. It's going on Saturday to the writers in general."

Eisner, speaking live on CNBC's "Fast Money," seemed to hesitate initially about whether it was possible that the writers could still reject the agreement, but finally suggested the deal's acceptance was inevitable.

"A deal has been made, and they'll be back to work very soon," Eisner said, adding, "I know a deal's been made. I know it's over."

Eisner did not elaborate on terms of the agreement. He said he expects most of the media companies affected by the strike to have "small" write-downs as a result of the deal. Eisner said the deal was struck last Friday.

As a result of studio cutbacks, however, many of the writers who went on strike are unlikely to return to the same big-money contracts they'd had as individuals with the studios, Eisner said.

Like omg if true then I'm really happy! ^_^ Although the damage has been done. Most likely my favorite shows won't be returning with new episodes until next fall. Maybe longer who knows.

Second Life Rant #1 - Zyngo Machines

What can I say about em. Their just plain evil. Hah. At times when I play this game, I wanna strangle the little shit that created it. Some say it there strategy involved. Hahaha! You kidding me? There very little strategy in this game. Just clicking on numbers. I say it all about luck. Pray the machine spits out numbers that you need.

If your unfamiliar what Zyngo is. Then I'll try my best to explain it. It mostly like bingo. You get 20 rounds. In those 20 rounds, the machine randomly gives you 5 or less numbers and you have to match the bottom numbers to the top numbers. You get points for completing numbers in a row, in a column or numbers going diagonal. And points for filling the pattern. The pattern are boxes that are the tan in color. Fill the pattern, get points. Complete the whole grid, you get major points. The machine will randomly give you numbers but also will give you green and blue jesters, red devils , angels and Diamonds. Green jesters let you choose any number on the grid above. Blue jesters let you choose any number in the column it appears in. Red devils take points away. It varies from 20-50%. Angels and Diamonds give you points. About 1000 points I think. On the grid, there are 3 symbols spread out. Angels, diamonds and 2x. Find these symbols and get points. 2x doubles your score every time you match a number, complete a row/column/diagonal or get a diamond/angel.

So why am I ranting? Well it mostly about those fucking red devils. They love to pop up at the worse fucking times. There is no limits on how many devils you can get. let me show you an example.

What you see is example of a really bad game where the devil loves to fuck with your score. It took away about 260% of my score! At the end, I manage to get 34,550 points. It makes me mad when you get a devil in every other round. What worse that, you can get devils that will take away 50% of your score twice in a row. That a kick in the balls. My suggestion is maybe limit the amount of devils you can get. I say 5 devils max. Or have the angels double your score between 20-50%. To balance it out.

Another reason albeit a minor reason why I hate these machines is that even though the numbers are suppose to be random, there are a quite a few times that one number maybe show up in a column more then once. For example, the number 15 could show up in the first column 3 times in a row. That happen to me a few times. Just something I think the creator should fix. A better randomizer algorithm or something.

My 3rd reason why I hate these machines. When you fill the entire board and still can't beat the high score, then that just another kick in the balls. This happens when you don't get to many diamonds and a few devils pop up here and there. My solution is to quadruple the points when filling the entire board. Adds alittle competition when trying to beat someone score. Maybe see more scores in the 100,000 area. I'll be honest, I only saw a score above 100,000 once in my time in Second Life. It was done by a person I know. I would love to see more scores like that.

4th reason, when someone beats your score in one try. When it took you about 30 plus minutes to get that score. Un fucking fair! I want that person to be there as long as me to beat my score.

Not a reason but just plain retarded. To win 1,000L, you have to get a score higher then 84,999. Now I dunno if the paid machines work differently then the free ones but getting a score of 84,999 is pretty god damn tough for me. 100 lindens to play and none of it goes to the pot. So I assume it goes to the person that owns the machine. That fucking nuts! I be there all day trying to get that score. Not worth my time. To beat a score like that, make the payout more then 1,000L. Or have some of the money you pay, goto the pot at least.

Overall, the Zyngo machines needs some tweaking in my opinion. I come to realize that it gambling.. These machines were probably designed to suck money from you. Guess what?!? Not falling for it. I hate to gamble my money. I will stick with the free ones and win a few bucks here and there. I'm done ranting....GOOD NIGHT!
